Our latest as we get it but I six already made an impact today was supposed to be a jam packed kick off day for the Republican National Convention.
Including and Romney speech now she will be speaking tomorrow and some of the other headliners.
They were also moved to later in the week now just a moment will be joined by Kentucky senator Rand Paul.
He will be making his speech -- -- Wednesday night we'll also be checking in tonight with Michelle Bachmann Sarah Palin Dick Morris.
And Ohio senator Bob Portman but first the convention did commence today with RNC chairman.
Ryan's -- this dabbling in the proceedings and immediately declaring.
A recess until tomorrow before the attendees cleared out the chairman did zero win on.
Much of what the GOP message will be this week.
For this convention.
We also want to draw your attention.
To the unprecedented.
Fiscal recklessness of the Obama administration.
As the -- did.
By the real time national debt clock shown here in the area and up.
For this convention.
We have actually installed a second national debt clock.
That a lot of the amount of debt that it crews during the course.
Of this convention.
And -- -- -- not a preview of the convention and the days ahead this Kentucky senator Rand Paul -- aerial.
Jean-Gilles with -- you one of the people that was supposed to be speaking tonight yeah -- word I wasn't gonna -- my speech but I heard -- I actually -- I heard that actually -- speak Wednesday night which is even better than Monday nights were excited about it you know this campaign to me has been defined by.
Absolutely the smear at the slander all the attacks I mean even as you know the country's train for new war owns the Gulf Coast.
The panhandle of Florida you know here we got former Michigan governor.
-- home tweeting out Isaak was sent by god.
You know Samuel Jackson he sends out a tweet.
You know and then others.
I mean it seems nothing is off limits to share your thoughts.
Well it seems like they have a sense of humor when they're the ones providing the humor but when he comes back and they down -- you know and Mitt Romney makes a joke and Chris Matthews jumps all over this and you know I just thought of made for bad television here we saw Chris Matthews and Ryan's previous is warning -- like.
-- he was finally says.
Oh yeah and go on with your monologue for another five minutes there's no -- question no question you know -- it's what what legal wanna play a little bit of this because we were gonna get to this later in the program but you brought it up and this was trying to previous.
And and he was going at -- this by the way in front of Tom Brokaw.
You know somebody who tried to build up the NBC brand.
For a long time patrol the state.
There folks with the Romney campaign who think -- Romney can't catch a break ever since he named Paul Ryan got a little bit of momentum.
After the Ryan pick and that he's disrupted by two storms.
Won a political storm and Todd -- which we just brought up but now an actual storm.
And when you think as this storm moves to in closer to Louisiana the Specter the sort a shadow of bush and Katrina.
Does -- this convention.
-- so that that was his case but that was it will -- -- a second.
But it's it's everything is political Romney he's a felon no evidence to back it up he's -- tax -- he.
Is responsible for woman's cancer.
Well you know in twelve million people are out of war another eight million people given up on work you can't really talk about your record you really can't talk about the economy can't talk about how.
The deficits going through the roof getting -- across sixteen trillion dollars in debt.
You have to talk about something else that I understand that you when your dad had a big rally 10151000.
People showed up this -- unity rally.
And that is to work the polls will -- within the Republican Party explain right that's part of my message that my my message will be on Wednesday.
But I think a big part of sort of the libertarian Republican on the Ron Paul Republicans is that I think they can help the Republican Party.
There's many places in New England as wells California were not winning statewide races it's very difficult for Republicans to win.
So I think embracing and bringing these liberty minded constitution mind people.
And making them an integral part of the parties away we might start winning races we're we're not winning -- interesting thing -- Romney said Bernanke's gone.
-- even talk at this convention the possibility going back to the gold standard something that I would expect to hear from either you or your dad.
We're really excited about the legacy and influence my dad's had not only in the party but on the platform for example.
Audit the Fed my dad's building he's been working on for years.
Passed the house every Republican voted for it in a hundred Democrats now we just need Harry Reid to let us have a vote you know -- very -- let us have a vote.
It's now part of the platform.
There governor Romney's come out its board -- audit the Fed so I think we've had a big including that -- so you think you can -- in other words you think that a lot of the libertarian ideas have been brought into the platform are you happy with so far.
Even Phyllis Schlafly said it was probably the best platform she had seen a long time lot of conservatives so far.
Pretty happy with at least 95% freedom works is another I have a bill that says for drones to do surveillance over the countryside -- -- -- -- warrant.
This is a very libertarian kind of idea we got that in the platform we got in the platform -- war should be declared by congress the president is the commander in chief.
-- constitution -- says war should be declared by congress.
And we re emphasized in the platform I agree first Democrat to me is a big deal as well President Bush got the authorization for -- support probably got this -- with Ryan's previous and Chris Matthews.
And I -- we ought to take note of how the media.
Has handled this campaign here -- four and has not called out especially the president.
And how it's so different from 2008 -- the state.
That change.
But I don't have a problem my birth certificate was awful.
It is an embarrassment to your party did Clinton and Carter this summer -- getting rid of work requirement for help draw welfare is dishonest.
-- -- -- -- -- -- you are playing that little ethnic card -- -- -- play games giggle about about the fact is your side is playing that card to host coming a work requirement you know what.
I miss Tim Burton yesterday -- yeah you'll well when you -- -- prep -- yeah brag about it this guy has an African and he's got a Lebanon.
I'd look to -- total discharge of the race card because -- This is come up.
A truth team member of Virginia we have you know they got to put you all back in chains.
Bill Clinton even suggested the race card was used against him in 2008.
Yeah and I think of anything this really when when President Obama won show that the country was well beyond race I think most of the dialogue relating.
Has been very good it's been debate that has nothing to do -- race.
And I think we wanna judge President Obama simply honest policies on his policies have failed the country -- citizens were drowning in a sea of debt from what he's found on the -- how do you see a path to victory for somebody said he cut the deficit in half five trillion in debt.
Guy that is created negative.
Hundreds of thousands of jobs lost DC a path to victory at all I think even more important -- that is that people are worried about.
Either afraid I mean there are businesses are afraid of what's coming next out of Washington you can't have a successful recovery races this is the most tepid recovery we've had.
We're not creating jobs you have to create millions of jobs.
And it's bad policy but it's also rhetoric coming from the president and from the White House that says.
You know we want to punish business we wanna punish those who are successful you didn't build that.
You know all of that rhetoric coming out.
I think is too much I don't think he can overcome and that's why I think we're gonna win it's so different than Obama -- 2008 and today and it's dark in comparison.
Whole lofty rhetoric change and now it's all negativity.
And because is difficult to run on the record you know a high unemployment and growth the economy's not growing.
He -- really this whole -- of dividing America one man against another verses poor old vs young the race card has been played -- on their side and the bottom line as it doesn't work for example they tried to tax rich people go after their yachts the person who lost their jobs again they continue -- -- -- dollars here.
Macon area hot seat on the worker loses or senator good to see -- -- -- -- -- --
