It's a tight race in Wisconsin president -- -- governor Mitt Romney running neck and neck in that swing state.

Will vice president of -- and Wisconsin native Paul -- helped boost the GOP ticket in Wisconsin.

Tomorrow Wisconsin governor Scott Walker will address the Republican National Convention.

We spoke with -- Governor Walker here in Tampa.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- Good to be with bustle of it like returning here for you you have represent Bryant miss Wisconsin.

-- famous as chairman of the Republican National Committee and your Wisconsin so this a little bit -- -- -- here.

It is -- -- -- revolution we've -- that effectively get it VP of football baseball is America's from Wisconsin were taken over everything cut a lot of fun it's a great time and rights and Paul and I actually grew up just on the road from each other so it's fun yeah it is indeed have a is -- -- I'm going to carry the state in 2008.

-- Obama won by fourteen points it's now sir it's neck and neck will he do anything.

Is he the one that's gonna win the state I think -- well and I think not just because people like Paul Ryan and his congressional district.

Barack Obama curious Paul Ryan won by over 60%.

So in places like James -- -- -- which are blue collar communities those places alone -- push you over the top I think the bigger since it's not just what it says about Paul Ryan.

It's what it says about Mitt Romney we all knew we had the experience in the private sector in the Olympics as a governor to be a good president.

I think what we saw we picked Paul Ryan to be his running made is that touched me good he's going to be an exceptional president he's -- the courage and the passion to do just that.

He -- in Wisconsin now I'm in the -- stuff that's a democratic area it is a fact that Paul Ryan has been who has been elected them more than once there's so many times and it tells me -- -- not sure what it is but -- certainly says that.

People trust -- I mean isn't that not -- has Paul been elected the people outside Wisconsin may not realize this.

Paul didn't just -- at a competitive district and continued to win big time after that.

Last several elections to proved his colleagues in the house that you could run and -- on his plan.

To bring some fiscal sanity back to Washington he talked about is putting green hands about -- -- about it.

So those voters -- you know the unemployed UAW workers the GM plant in Janesville.

For the guys in Kenosha who worked at a factory there.

Those folks that traditional woman vote Democrat also vote for Paul Ryan.

Because they trusted -- like his candor collect the fact he's decent guy I think they'll give -- a walk when it comes to him.

And Mitt Romney and the check out what's your message to what I when you speak.

-- to talk a little bit about the Wisconsin experience because in many ways it's it's what we face in America.

We took on an economic and a fiscal crisis we didn't back down returned -- -- around we're headed in the right direction.

And I think we need that kind of turnaround in America and governor -- is exactly -- -- to do that.

And I would assure a little bit of a personal story of someone that benefitted from our reforms that I think will benefit from from governor Romney being -- -- president.

What -- come this is the Abbott senior state then there's a lot of passion around you -- cat lovers and haters of governor Scott Walker although -- did -- he did win the recall by more than he won the original governor I recognize it.

But well how does that rather.

Hostile environments -- how does that how -- reflect the general election well I think.

I think again and our election I said this way back in June couple days after my election right I feel that she divorces intolerance of the -- -- -- -- and I said.

If people look at Mitt Romney.

You can see him is not just -- our next Tuesday stating for Republican.

They see they are -- for -- That's enough to sway independents and even some discerning Democrats because those are the people who elected me I could out of one with a bigger margin over 7% of the vote margin.

More so that we did in 2010 have we not had independent swing voters in even a few of those so called Reagan Democrats.

Mitt Romney can appeal to them even more so with Orion and the ticket -- got to talk about reforms he's got to be the clear contrast were hurt interstate like most states are.

-- -- -- it's better than national average but it's still too -- 42 consecutive months of unemployment above 8%.

For the twelve million or fellow citizens out of work.

That's certain well -- things around.

It's it's now got down about seven point 3% which is about -- about four tents of point less.

Then when you took office I'm curious what do you attribute to me that's steadily -- the right direction right that's right trend what do you attribute it even that declined -- -- employment to.

Well in our case the difference between those all those months we've seen unemployment above 8% nationally and that's what we had under President Obama during his tenure in our case we changed the business plan.

We understood that people create jobs not the government so there was -- tomorrow as well I think the current administration in -- Obama religious views its success is measured.

But how many people are dependent on the government particularly in unemployment benefits that's not the pathway toward more free more prosperity.

For all of our people across the country and I think.

If Mitt Romney and Paul -- -- able to make the case -- they have a plan.

Plan that'll help all the people all the hardworking taxpayers of our country do better I think that's a plan that could ultimately win and that's when they've got a way up this week.

That was -- -- say like when it's up Paul Ryan -- -- since catwalk detail on the rest of us are what monetary.

Talk a lot about families in our key section on I just text a little better grasp of -- the his -- departure was from Jews who earlier today.

-- it would be great response great folks over Krieger school where you're just a few weeks ago.

A -- by most -- times dinnertime talk of our freeways he checked in with me Audrey my campaign nature I was heating -- praying enough doing exercise which you lives.

I'm trying to do the -- back to amend any you know he's just such a positive -- I think people will be surprised to see just how be he has.

Maybe in some ways is because he -- ranks of kind of came of age that communities from President Reagan was our our nation's leader.

Governor nice to see -- good luck tomorrow -- could deceive --
