So here we are on the floor of the convention -- -- -- right by New Jersey which is gonna get a lot of focus on Tuesday night in particular.

That's -- governor Chris Christie who is one of the rising stars in the party of course we'll give the keynote address it's a really significant spot to be -- and what we're told.

Is that he will make the case.

-- -- -- -- Not so much against President Obama although with Chris Christie never know what -- fact.

But we do know that he's gonna talk about New Jersey the experience -- -- -- there and responsiveness that people have had to cost cutting his -- -- -- New Jersey.

And make the case it can work across the country as well.

He obviously is a rising star this parties that have security that keynote address on Tuesday night after being passed over for the vice presidential spot which you always think he wasn't gonna -- This is a big moment for him all eyes will be on New Jersey and I'm Chris Christie as he takes that podium.

Tuesday night to give the keynote that tracks.

He's out of from New Jersey I like hanging around New Jersey podium down act.

Chris Christie's also not of course for one liners have you heard that.

Earlier this week in Florida bringing back -- class sick during a meeting with the New Jersey delegation.

I think we're gonna really enjoy the next few days down here Florida weather will come and go.

They brought me down here specifically.

-- sure you know.

Pretty -- here on Sunday.

So make sure there's idiots who are on the beach come get the hell off the -- Some -- is so good they never go away.

Well that -- so he's a winner right so he was referring to last year when he told people to get off the -- as Hurricane Irene.

Was threatening his state so what can we expect to hear.

From the unpredictable sometimes governor of New Jersey Chris Christie's.

Liz Cheney -- joining me now Fox News contributor.

Market -- -- -- -- let -- they have yet obviously to be chosen for the keynote speeches is a big privilege.

In this environment Chris Christie -- somebody who it was looked at -- vice president governor Romney made -- you know mistake about.

Making that clear what I expect and what's his role what do you hope he brings to the table to you know I.

Ain't that what he's done in New Jersey is really going to be a basis for what we hear from him tonight which will be sort of look.

This is not somebody who is full of rhetoric this is somebody who actually walks the walk.

And so I think you'll hear it Governor Christie talk about the challenges the nation faces and that the tough things that we're gonna have to do to bring the country back.

And I think it'll be real contrast frankly to a lot of the empty rhetoric that you hear from the other side that people have already gotten to know this governor as a straight talker and I think that it will really serve Republicans well to hear more about this evening.

Yeah it is there any negative to it to him being him in -- I think that for somebody to do what he's done -- to be able to prevail in New Jersey as a Republican.

With this straight talk somebody who says look we cannot afford not to deal with this debt crisis we cannot afford to have this out of control spending that we've got.

Certainly I would not suggest that Chris -- had to tone it down at all I think his message is exactly right for the country and I I would be really surprised if anybody has suggested that he tone it down I think -- -- -- -- earlier saying you know that's not good -- well I -- that -- its iPad is interest out to pull this morning 41%.

Said that they didn't really have an opinion that Chris -- so it is really one of the first times will be on the national stage and kind of have that.

Ability to let a larger audience -- -- now women who knows what has possibilities are in the future but I and that you are also very focused on.

And Romney will be out there tonight and and the women there's -- there has been a war on women apparently.

That has been much discussed.

What do you make of it.

Well I am really fed up with that I'm really really just sort of at the end of my rope in terms of the Democratic Party claiming that we have a war on women.

The Democrat party seems to believe that the only things that women care about our contraceptives that government funded contraceptives.

And a government handout from cradle to grave we also you know the life of Julia that the Obama campaign have put up on the Internet.

You know is it's completely condescending and really offensive as a woman.

You know the women that I know care about the economy they care about economic opportunity.

We just took our oldest daughter to college a couple of days ago and I looked around at the women in her class.

-- they want jobs they want to know that they're going to be able to be successful in their lives.

It and I think that you know they're gonna want to vote for a party that can provide that economic opportunity we care about national security.

We care about where this nation is going we wanna have a president who understands that America is an exceptional nation to the idea that the Democrats are sort of sidelining women on -- these issues that.

You know -- -- -- worked for decades and decades to be considered equal and it looks to me like the Democratic Party is frankly a part of this trying to take us backward.

How will president -- on dominated with women against John McCain and it's an area that he has been very successful at.

It is a big lineup of women speaking here -- -- -- How do you hope to close that gap and get that message across of the -- well -- you're right Martha and I think the fact that we've got women like governor Haley like Kelly I women who really.

-- frankly they're out there fighting this fight and there out there not just working for American women but for American men and women.

And I'd like to see us get to the point where.

You know people -- given higher office -- people are elected to high office based on you know the content of their character that this isn't simply -- gender issue and Condoleezza Rice is also speaking candidly about the fact that you know you can -- -- -- aren't they have a lot of women involved or you can just say we have a -- people -- -- -- and a lot of different -- at the table.

And I -- you know when we get to the point where we don't sort of look at you know the women's vote as something that is different and unique from -- from what women's.

Is women's issues you know women's issues our bread and butter issues we wanna know that that we're going to be able to put food on the table and that our kids are gonna grow up in a country where they're going to be safe and prosperous.

This Cheney come of that from a -- last John went and -- is plus that -- thank you -- I give it an issue that's -- -- to see you thank you --
