-- want to welcome my tour microphones a senior campaign advisor.

To that he president.

President Obama and a former press secretary Robert Gibbs there Robert -- I -- -- -- -- -- -- Now what are your thoughts watching these speeches tonight first of all -- the theme of the convention we didn't build that purposely taking the president at context right.

Right I mean it's a mean look I thought it was -- -- honestly -- very very strange.

You have one of the singular Cingular most.

Unpopular presidential candidates America's current.

Your job -- Try to tell his story what he's gonna do for the country -- urine.

Voted that -- denied here about what it probably was gonna do to strengthen and build the middle class all you did was here anger dental.

You did not hear and move this country forward.

Now I'll let it be heard lies and indicate going that -- this lie that Obama would have removed.

-- work requirement for welfare they keep repeating and Agassi -- they say it often enough people believe it.

I you know I think that's I think that's their pattern I mean -- use.

The night is built off of the phrase.

-- Does not mean what they are trying to -- what means.

Their main message -- use bottom policy -- The the president is not pursuing it doesn't exist so.

I guess that's -- That's a desperate campaign this.

I also -- -- to be watching Chris Christie get up there and talk about the GI bill.

Which of course was a democratic initiative.

A government plan.

That'll put us down leader's father through college he talked about -- father taking three buses to -- -- gets public transportation and infrastructure the very think that they say they don't want it but you know they they -- government is the enemy and yet.

They continue to talk about things that would not be possible were it not for.

Government largesse the very thing Obama was talking about when he said you didn't build up.

Well and you know -- analog to that they're you know he describes.

He described -- party.

That was focused on reform and work across party lines and believed in shared sacrifice.

I don't think that describes for one moment.

The Republican Party -- -- it describes in anyway -- performed their nominating.

Not somebody is split here sacrifice and trying to get there.

Error our fiscal house in order they are not somebody's -- editors who is said.

You know they were good things like the GI bill there's good things like public transportation.

You know again I thought it was great theory.

Very strange very angry -- Republican.

Speaking of shared sacrifice when John Kasich spoke and he talked about a 1997 -- -- -- of the budget committee.

But of course was Clinton was president and we had the surplus and that was part of and that we had Clinton's tax rate which is supposed to be -- said it after nine years.

And that's part of the sacrifice to pay.

For more percentage point for every -- make over two and 50000 dollars a year.

That's hardly shared sacrifice.

That they talked about but they -- -- -- Yeah it was it was sort of like.

A whole other parallel universe going on in some of these speeches written that you said.

-- -- -- the party shared sacrifice.

Why are you fighting tooth and nail to protect tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires.

Each unit it is strange through the -- it was strange light -- there.

By the way mr.

Klein put out tonight something that that chart done by the center on budget and priorities.

That the tax cuts and wars account for half of our debt by 2019.

They keep talking about these numbers in the deficit -- the -- is if it's all President Obama when so many -- what happened preceded him and for which we're still pain.

Absolutely -- -- 08 years.

We decided we could start to -- and we get -- -- -- drug benefit to Medicare.

And that we could cut everybody's taxes -- Egypt insists on millionaires and billionaires.

That we can all put it on American Express card and nobody would ever give up the bill.

That's how we got into this.

You know you.

-- the budget deficit before the president ever walked into the front door of the White House was already over a trillion dollars.

So you know there's a lot of talk about debts and deficits.

From this party bear they're the ones that got us into this mess and they have.

But no way to get -- and absolutely no plan to ask more.

People in their party in order to help solve that.

Senior campaign advisor to the president -- Robert Gibbs is with us former Press Secretary -- the president.

Are you frustrated that the campaign that -- the numbers the poll numbers are as close as they are right now and -- you can't -- what do you think that is.

Well look I think it's going to be close election I think we're a very polarized electorate battle -- that actually surprised that.

We always -- -- record collection I'd go -- all the -- on that.

You have four years ago the president won in.

What most people considered a life a landslide.

And and we ended up with 53% of the vote so this is -- be -- closer election.

But I have faith in the fact that we are talking about the issues that matter most -- people.

Where they matter most people.

We are talking about the lives -- middle class Americans are living.

Strengthening our economy providing -- about it security making college more or below the problems.

That the folks who live in middle America are worried about here tonight they're not worried about.

Would -- have focused on -- insults which is.

But honestly auditor -- I'm amazed that they keep talking about how nasty the Democrats are they personally attack the president.

At the same time it's almost like projection that they are doing the very same thing that they are accusing.

Democrats of doing it to just remarkable and.

Well Alan I tell you this you if you -- if you hadn't known -- Mitt Romney was had previously been nominated earlier in the we're Mitt Romney had not walked outside.

To listen to those last speeches.

Having heard the speeches which you know Mitt Romney was the nominee bigger quicker that is going to be time talking about -- -- rob.

-- basement no time talking about it.

They have no desire to spend any -- talk about it.

He is -- -- witness protection program yeah current policies you name it.

And I think.

All they wanted to do essential feature that president -- that make -- middle class families wondering.

How to get -- strengthen economics -- doesn't make any of them more secure.

How confident are you about.

The ability for the Democrats and the president to win reelection.

I am I think it's going to be an extraordinary because what you ought to make sure everybody listening.

Is registered they're getting active they're getting their Brent -- -- active.

But I I believe that I am competent.

It we're gonna win -- it's if people work hard the next seventy.

Mr.

Gibbs Robert appreciate -- -- -- once again thank you so much fun of the pro Arab and thank you very much there that is have Robert Gibbs the former Press Secretary.

To the president -- senior campaign advisor.

To a Barack Obama.
