What makes America great.

President Obama spent his first months in office apologizing for something for America to the rest of the war.

There have been times where America's shown arrogance.

And been dismissive.

Even the -- -- -- I know that in the past the United States has sometimes fallen short of meeting our responsibilities we have at times been.

This engaged.

And at times we've sought to dictate our Turner's.

We're back with former secretary of state Condoleezza right.

Under president George W.

Bush of course she's speaking tonight a lot of speaks good about it on American exceptionally from.

So I guess and it will be a dichotomy two what the president has been in the past.

Well the only thing that the world hates more than unilateral American leadership is no American leadership.

Because of their house to be a country that says here's the view -- -- human history -- plentiful.

United States has said that's about three people and free markets we've been willing to defend it we've been going supported.

As a result we helped to defeat communism and the Soviet Union as a result we have.

Strong democracies in Asia like Japan and South Korea democracy spreading in Latin America now to the Middle East.

With all the American leadership the world -- a chaotic place and so being on ambiguous about that and -- Paula I'm apologetic about it.

Is very important you find it frustrating was sitting on the sidelines with a of the massacre continues for eighteen months in Syria.

Well personally I have to tell you I'm really got into the on the sidelines I had a yeah I mean let us as a country -- as a country and as an American.

Watching the -- the slaughter his people watching the arabians.

Help him to do so.

Watching the Russians and the Chinese prevent international action.

And saying where is the United States where does the United States than in all of us and I think that's -- question that everybody says.

Well that's what's happened in over their bit -- things that it's very troubling and it's happening over here madam secretary.

Is the fact that there have been so many national security leaks have been leaked to the New York Times -- for books.

There's one thing in common they -- make president of the United States would really good it looks like they're being -- for political purposes.

Well I can tell you that I've been stunned by some of the things I've read in the press some of those sort of crown jewels of national security.

And everybody understands that before -- White House -- paint a picture of what the president is doing for the American people to see that.

But one has to be awfully careful about revealing in any way operations -- how things are done because.

That really does compromise our security and I don't know all the sources of these -- but I will say this they need.

To stop they've been rumored to be very very high as though they've been rumored to be my my -- -- wherever they're coming from stop it.

-- on -- the good or investigate where they did absolutely -- talk a little bit about cabinet which many people are saying since your presence is here.

And did you -- to incredible speech as of late that people -- was very political.

For what you normally give.

Are you considering any or have you been offered a -- position should Mitt Romney -- I want Mitt Romney to be elected president that's -- here that's why I've been -- trying to help but I am a very happy Stanford professor and I added.

-- one for the foreseeable future.

After all I've been secretary of state I love foreign policy I don't love politics I -- policy when you bus had a chance to be America's chief diplomat there's nothing else that you want to live in that regard.

As a former -- Stamford I'm glad to have you back at Stanford a female in a very high ranking up position.

But let me ask you about Hillary Rodham Clinton and other high ranking -- because we've been reporting this morning that she will not be going.

-- the Democratic National Convention and use today.

That's tradition.

-- I didn't go to the 2008 convention because the secretary of state the secretary of defense to a certain extent the secretary of the treasury.

Are are all officials who carry a kind of nonpartisan.

That brief if you will.

And sell like it's absolutely tradition sectors status is rarely if ever at the convention.

Well -- getting bush said something that those very interest a couple of days ago stop blaming my brother.

Has -- and especially agonizing for you is you and literally the eye of that storm the national security advisor and secretary of state.

Well it's not working.

-- because after three and a half years whatever is happening to this country is owned by the occupant of the White House.

-- and that's what the American people think President Bush has -- and really really difficult times.

He kept us safe.

He led with honor and integrity.

I think the American people are seeing that in history and I believe holds up to that way and the headline for tonight's speech you're gonna get.

Well I'm gonna talk about America at home and abroad but the need for America to speak.

With a voice that the world can -- But a need for America rebuild at home too because the essence of -- exceptional -- some it's -- we are here they're gonna eat that up.

I -- -- nervous sort through it well.

Or let's say I always have a healthy respect for making sure that you do a better.

-- like -- -- an automatic do you expect nothing that.

She's gonna go play golf but it does that work and I believe her college sports passion thank you thank you I'm really honored I'm really -- looking forward to to donning a green jacket -- -- -- -- -- for the football season coming you've got to break it.

You've got it good to see -- -- straight ahead.
