I am Chris -- Walt and I am the host of our -- on foxnews.com.
I'm the digital politics editor for the Fox News Channel and it is a great treat to be here.
In Google -- today and not just because they have free coffee.
Also because one what is with us auto imports Fox News contributor.
Is a friend of power play at his friendship is so great that he's come down here to Google YouTube world.
To participate in this because more people -- over power play.
Well we want people to know about -- so it's like there's a lot of luckier than a free copy of the group.
With the best thing that we have the real reason we're here other than is the fact that this is a chance for us to talk to in -- -- it and CE.
The people who watched our way all the time these people who I USX honor by doing that so let's meet four of -- And first I want to introduce you ladies first.
-- Barbara free Meyer Barbara tell us a little bit about yourself.
And well I am not.
-- -- Married and with a small arms and had.
You read my two weeks on power play -- and -- part of our.
If you are you worried sassy Smart we -- OK and so we would describe your position as libertarian Republican.
Conservatives first Republicans I think.
Now let's meet frank needs in my pronouncing it right frank yeah.
That's perfect okay frank.
Tell us about yourself.
I'm I'm an -- brutal and originally from the New York area two daughters.
Very happy to be here.
OK in -- Harrisburg PA Harrisburg Pennsylvania that's correct.
All right okay good okay what about Gregory -- I know him -- -- match.
Because he is he has streets that oftentimes I read on the air but -- lap.
Gregory tell us something about yourself.
Ugly to clear blue bashes surfing term Nadia not what I wanted you to anybody.
And I don't have.
Other than Seattle Washington centenary to a beautiful is really ladies and do little riding over -- are mostly foreign -- Okay cool and let's meet John Jamison.
Thanks Chris I'm not -- live in the Dallas Texas area.
Also -- three wonderful kids ages a 7UP around twelve.
And a great older you're excited to be here thanks an opportunity.
Wolf or small let's.
Talk about what.
The Republicans are doing right in what the Republicans are doing wrong -- getting messed that one you hire here.
And we're sort of immersed in it and we know we get to talking with you read things about what they're trying to say.
But how about it home.
And so I throw it out to you guys -- -- a view.
What message is penetrating.
What's going on let's start with Greg Greg is what.
Messages is emanating from here.
I think that's actually something we were talking about previously before we came on in that is.
You know the talking points are out there.
But it's hard to find some of the really into dust up and you really have to do a lot of digging and -- if you have a particular issues here and I think you you have to go out there indeed I was sticking around for this for some foreign policies.
-- I think the talking points -- there but he needs to get India needs to show us the nuts and.
-- one a lot of foreign policy being discussed -- -- and Greg should know that tonight Condi Rice speaks and I think this is -- Major moment at the convention in terms of our policy and here's why if you look at the poll numbers right now.
The Democrats pretty much it's taken a -- -- Republicans.
Blundered on national security and usually that's a Republican issue.
But at the moment national security.
Is a plus for Democrats a wash it worse for Republicans you know.
-- and I think Condi Rice has to lay out exactly the laws that she sees in the Obama aren't policy.
And the way that she does -- I think it's gonna be buried very interest I think you're gonna get your your feet tonight and terms upon politics.
That's what what message has has grizzled its way down to Atlanta or up to -- and what are you what what what have you taken place.
Lot of thinking that the in Romney's speech last night do you personalize Mitt Romney I think that has.
Good topic of discussion to make him more.
And likable Q well but I know from my business experienced in past years that.
You don't really mind if your.
Boss doesn't have the best personality you know that he's got -- well I mean you know these -- The ability.
To run the business and to do what he's done and whether you liked -- or not Israel there it's more house.
Now will go ahead and prize that you said it Barbara on has been -- -- of interest -- day today because of his critique.
Former first lady of Massachusetts.
But what about this idea.
That whatever she did maybe it or maybe it's not important that it be likable just import that -- not exceed its ability.
Well in fact a member of the Obama.
-- -- -- Has sought to portray him as a cold hearted individual.
And I think part of -- and -- tried to you last night was to convey the idea that he's not a whole -- Hard nosed businessman eats these people.
And he understands when people are struggling.
And he does not think that people are simply.
Collateral damage in the business.
And that message was really important.
Barbara two women.
Because remember exactly what -- what and -- was trying to do was reach out to female voters who right now favor Obama by decisive margin.
Over Mitt Romney -- it was interesting listening to you because you -- Let's do it well.
In the latest -- news poll the gender gap for women -- 66 or seven points which is pretty typical Democrats always.
No if you look at single women it's about you but all you can -- your greatness and whatnot no obvious -- combined critic of the the right now and then and there is a greater number of single women ever -- -- comfortable.
Getting this like 7030.
But if you then look at married women -- -- coast delight.
Difference between the two.
And I think Romney wants to do better in an election right now that is pretty much.
If he can do better well let me get -- That's -- existing Barbara I was and since he says while the Boston do the job it doesn't matter I think that's Mitt Romney's attitude and he wants our was -- he -- that.
By saying that the -- can persuade her.
-- I don't think Tea Party are going for -- I.
He ain't pretty well it.
-- I know what we knew from Harrisburg what's the view about what is being asked them.
I think what we need to concentrating on is the current economy and I think that that's coming -- I think.
Are small the other issues I think that it's the economy.
That is weighing on everyone's mind totally.
Especially here in -- And I annual and yeah.
-- -- Now frank I know from our producers.
That you've been looking for work.
And it's something that you're concerned about obviously as cute as you try to find your way up.
What is the message because when you have a 123 million unemployed people.
-- under -- unemployed or underemployed people.
You have to competing messages one is president Obama's message about we need to invest in.
It's -- do spend more federal money we borrow money and spend it.
Right now in order to do this for a lot of people who are in your situation and it's it's as if he.
I I I do understand there.
Methods and I would like to seek on Tuesday that the promised.
President Obama has made hasn't actually come to fruition.
Still it's been eight years later released these two are not feeling -- And soon something has to change.
Well -- -- what -- which you bet your efforts.
And will be Bryant.
John you're an Obama voter right you voted for President Obama 2008.
Yeah -- that's all public record now unfortunate.
Yeah yeah I don't know I don't I don't -- and I don't have -- -- candidate you want them so.
-- -- You better.
I don't have a lot of families.
No I think that's an important point -- right because I definitely leading right.
But it but I am actually one of those that likes to see more moderation in the party that we're seeing in the convention.
So I'm I'm.
Of that Republican spectrum I -- But you're right I think -- really follow up in the idea that Washington changed the nature of the polarization in the country with the political parties.
This is creating an intractable.
Government and it's not allowing our country to move forward.
-- and that was concerning to me Annan in.
So there's there's -- like ability on a personal level for George Bush I was concerned about the way.
Policies weren't really actively -- in the country court so I ate -- kind of a referendum vote.
Which frankly who has been a concern -- around the Romney approaches to the last few weeks where it was a referendum.
Campaign on on Obama's record rather than a big ideas.
And I think we really saw that -- -- the nomination.
All right and four eat -- that it's about big ideas.
The challenging things that we the people of the country to view.
And so I'm excited to -- that.
She had been and want now and ask you this where the president the problem is that he captured the reform spirit.
Very well in 2008 change -- -- -- -- on them -- reform fix Washington her at it work better and people like John maybe.
Right of center.
Still like the idea of somebody that would change we want to work.
Washington is so bad now in terms things and nobody can address heart problems were basically living six months at a time.
In Washington crisis -- crisis.
-- powerful argument we heard it from Chris Christie -- It has two -- You can cut this -- in terms of the American people saying that.
They have a low opinion -- congress area especially low opinion of it GOP dominated house.
Or you can credit terms the American people saying you know what President Obama you promised that -- knew how to work on a bipartisan basis there's no evidence.
During the course of your short years Washington I'm sure that the Obama people are backs -- well.
Those Republicans -- -- obstructions they try to stop everything but I think every initiative.
Republicans -- -- back and say.
We cannot be -- you've had bargained with us in good faith listen to us absorb some of our ideas.
Obama -- helped it would be the number one item on the docket I'm sure Obama would say -- but there's no public option responded to you.
And the Republican they didn't get one Republican vote.
But it's but reformer -- are part I think -- the argument I hear all the time I thought that was the power up Chris Christie's speech.
Yesterday was the state either Republican politician -- been able to get some sort in a blue state as he pointed out who's been able to get things that.
A lot of questions per warrant on that and I would be.
Do we still have a common goal as the two sides -- mean dude does it not seem like.
We have a choice at this point we -- crew government.
Are we gonna try to -- -- not just out of necessity like Chris Christie's that night.
But out of Los -- philosophy.
Of smaller government.
And I didn't hear that from it and I -- wonder how much bipartisanship.
There is available.
With those two different -- important.
And look at look that's an entry and that I think -- a bit there but there's this and I think that I think Greg gets right to the heart of witches.
We not since 1964.
Arguably have we've been at such a time of -- with the ID.
It's not you know everybody talks about bipartisanship.
But what is the the old Reagan line about -- Or no democracy Soviet democracy is three wolves and she voted out what what's good -- at lunch right.
This situation where the chasm between ideas Greg talks about is enormous.
Outlets you don't think so the chasm is this.
Do you think that that -- the number one issue in the country.
A woman so yes.
They do I guess they do things -- as he can only do that.
I don't know the debt that you ask the Barbara if you ask the question do you think jobs are legitimate choice and Terrence the economy -- -- -- you Democrats are you just made you were.
Well I don't look at is the primary issue it is done.
Distance we are from constitutional principles.
From the first principles -- the government was founded on and what is a constitutional.
Basis for example for health care.
-- icons you know where in the constitution to reject the authority to do what the federal government.
I would like to see us go back -- those.
Kinds of arguments ended and the would take care of themselves -- -- if you really do hate that.
It's in the constitution for the federal government you will require everybody you know here I know that's why John Roberts and leading soccer and it may have.
To go around it like.
When your tactics.
He didn't do well.
Our Barbara what -- the time is ticking down I wanna get I know I'm sorry.
It's okay is that here's my question for you -- we heard from Greg we heard from Barbara something that said beyond just practical concern.
That there is an ideological war constitutional there is a moral necessity there's a moral imperative involved here in terms of why -- all government -- way to go.
And why those.
Is it the same way for you do you see -- the same way -- certain is there a moral imperative here or is this just a practical.
Question about what is going to spur the economy of people get back to work.
From a practical standpoint I think it's smaller government is better.
Be -- -- logic to your approach.
Don't stand in the way it small business and enterprise.
And let -- let me businessman Ron you know.
Yes -- there are filled up.
Well there have been.
That's that's gonna have to do it I'm sorry we're out of time.
You you should thank these people these -- people who pay our salaries.
I think is terrific.
You know what's interesting to me -- -- these folks are in politics.
And I think you're Smart people and wonderful we're watching.
I really enlightened people who take time to think about American politics -- -- -- all of yes and I can't say how cool it is to get this year you get this yet.
It's -- nice.
And you know what you're Smart well informed.
-- me out of what we do.
-- -- -- I mean what what else can I say but -- had a great thanks for joining cute.
