As of tonight -- -- all right now officially the GOP vice president -- -- now he's been serving in congress for fourteen years.

And he is made his mark as the budget guru you're seeing -- and Ryan go on the record on the economy many times.

Put up ideas what we thought we would do we cast our budget was -- a -- our plan and stage show the senate and the president here's how we want to fix the problem.

What's your ideas and analysts are compromised.

We have yet to see they have decided not to put their ideas -- table she can even get to the table.

America does not deserve a debt crisis this is the most predictable economic crisis we never have to -- in 2008 when we had an economic crisis.

That one caught us by surprise what if your president your congressman your senator.

-- -- at that time knew when it was coming what was gonna happen how to stop and had time to stop them but didn't do so because it was a good politics.

What would you think of that person George Bush lost Wisconsin -- one half of one point both times.

Last year -- last time with Obama and John McCain -- campaigning here in September his campaign didn't exist.

So Obama kind of ran up the score putting the last election where Scott Walker Ron Ron Johnson one we took to house seats to the states and with the state -- -- we feel like we have a really good chances Republicans and I think Mitt Romney is in the best position to win states like ours you know they Ohio's in the Wisconsin's.

Which really get to the states to determine this whole thing I can't first -- -- -- the president said they have a budget that -- -- what trot.

Can your opinion.

What's wrong with the most -- what it doesn't who doesn't fix our problem.

He doesn't even pretend to actually fix our fiscal problem so instead of having sort of an America built -- last I would call it America drowning in debt.

Thanks -- our political panel wash examiner chief political correspondent Byron York at ABC news senior Washington editor Rick -- Rick first two tonight.

-- -- -- Energy enthusiasm excitement I think it was a good story that was -- -- -- He tied the Obama by the Romney campaign messaging with his own personal story I think it really effective way.

A lot of fingers.

Against Obama and I think also a very effective description.

Of why Mitt Romney is the right person do I think he talked about Mitt Romney more in that speech in just about everyone else other than Romney combined.

You know I was not a big fan of Chris Christie last night I think tonight was his biggest success for Paul Ryan -- Christmas that is last night was not a good night for Chris Christie.

He had to do a number of things he he did have to deliver -- real indictment against the Obama administration gets a really good -- -- Directed straight the president for talking too much I was incredibly.

Well received in the hall.

And introduce himself a little bit did that had some people tearing up talking about.

His mother and most of all.

He had to talk -- had to convince people.

That he and Mitt Romney were gonna spend all of their time working on jobs the economy and -- he was really really well focused on that.

And they were two images that thought that were effective in describing this -- his appeal this AC DC to -- the idea in his iPod it's just talking about.

What kind of what -- generation represents.

And then defeating picture of all bomb on the walls of these kids coming home from college without a job.

It's just it's it it's an easily understandable image that I think if you can make that generational appeal that's -- you do it.

You know one of the speech writers for the speech was the guy who wrote Sarah Palin's speech at the Republican Convention.

In 2008 Minneapolis which was a beautifully done speech.

And this was the same way and I I think the image of the bedroom was was just huge and people -- remember remember that.

That and the other and -- the AC/DC.

To zeppelin thing was really fascinating because.

He used it as an example of showing that he had much younger musical tastes and Mitt Romney.

What's up almost forty years ago.

And so actually I was talking with James -- about -- a few minutes ago and he said you know the real point is again to.

Whites middle aged disaffected.

Voters.

Who may have voted for Barack Obama last time around and make that connection -- this time around.

About coming around me -- -- I'm.

I mean he's as I said before he's made big speeches and big occasions before and none is as big -- -- everything else is gonna pale in comparison.

To what he does this time and he's gonna need to beat a lot of the biographical heavy lifting is gonna fall on him because of the way -- structure this convention we're gonna hear more tomorrow night about him.

He -- never been comfortable talking about himself and I.

Is cashing his wife said that the other night so that last that's right this -- -- -- what we have to do it that's how it works you know I act I I asked Rick Santorum about this today.

And he would really abusing it -- season.

Be vulnerable.

So -- human side you to show so people that not everything is perfect and if he can demonstrate that and show a little bit of humanity and vulnerability tomorrow night -- -- -- surprise some people -- -- joining him.

And -- think the president does it team regrets regrets that the president said that you didn't build it then we got everything.

You know I.

I'm sure -- and I'm sure just drives them crazy and and -- times I've wondered whether Republicans or maybe pushing this a little bit too hard like maybe they pushed Joe The Plumber a little too hard but last time around.

But it does resonate.

With Republican voters and with independence because it it suggests what people.

Suspect about Barack Obama is that he really does.

Devalue that kind of individual initiative the Republicans celebrate so you know -- that -- set it a lot.

Romney will say it again tomorrow night and you're gonna keep hearing it throughout the campaign.

They -- tomorrow night and also big week next week you guys are also loved being with us next week to let.

The Democratic Convention -- thank you both thank you and.
