It's always true I have fallen from the high -- of politics and now I wallow in the -- the media.

But I still know that as a country.

We can do better.

And with Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan we will do better.

Former governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee ticket a shot at us last night a little bit.

The man himself was with us now.

Here in the the temple and you'll call this decade are you comfortable that -- totally yeah wallow in the month of the need help.

With that hey I was acknowledging that you know I'm joined the dark side now Jose Lima -- and they love the line indeed they did right.

But -- had another critical line last night.

I want to be clear about something that's been said people wonder whether guys like me an evangelical.

Would only support a fellow evangelical.

Why did you put that in your speech because I think there's been this narrative that evangelicals are not gonna vote for Mitt Romney because he's a Mormon and that's nonsense.

That's ridiculous first of all to me and it.

It's an insult to my sense of being an American.

I -- -- vote for somebody or against somebody because of his or her religion.

And and of -- enough I think again lead the country.

But I think that there's been this thing repeated over and over and maybe you you know stroll through some place somewhere -- -- somebody who who will say that.

But it is not representative of the mainstream.

The evangelicals.

Or any other faith group that I'm aware of you know I was down in front watching you speak -- watch in the teleprompter the same time you're pretty -- that.

Everything about a -- yeah.

But at a kidding aside if you were there to talk about social issues about faith in America when you delivered.

This line have a listen here.

The attack on my Catholic Brothers and sisters is an attack on me.

The Democrats.

Have brought back that old -- the limbo.

To see how low they can go in attempting to limit our ability to practice our faith.

But this isn't a battle about contraceptives.

And Catholics.

But about conscience.

And the creator.

Let me say to you tonight.

I care far less.

As to where Mitt Romney takes his family to church then I do about where he takes this country.

A as you recall that was the line about church.

Now he wrote that.

I did with meaning.

Because it's it's a statement a great passion for me to say that.

I'm I'm I'm not -- -- and Mitt Romney's faith and religion but let me tell you I respect the fact that he practices it with authenticity.

And one of the reasons that I wanted to include the line about the extraordinary charitable giving a Mitt Romney because that really does resonate and speak to people who are.

A part of the faith community.

It if you say you love god but you give -- nothing.

You don't really love him.

If you generously give to the poor and to those who hurt.

It says that your faith -- transformed your value system and what you have -- Mitt Romney is a person who takes his state quite seriously and there is a tangible evidence of that.

But -- -- rival a onetime rival -- you're stressed that last night also said is quite simple how we can the united we have Barack Obama got back up.

We do and then the place went -- well I think he had sometimes people you know they'll look at a political race in the -- you guys were rivals of course we work.

It's like two quarterbacks both want to be the starter in spring practice they're going after each other.

But if you're in the Super Bowl you want your team to win and if you've got to -- -- -- help your other gotta get there.

You'd rather be on a Super Bowl team on the bench than you had to be the starting quarterback up.

Of a team that so in sixteen just -- your success from -- 2008 you're guilty evangelicals.

And born again Christians throughout America I mean you have a lot of pool.

When it comes to this party and now you have a chance for -- Mitt Romney and tonight Romney has a chance to promote himself.

What's his objective what does he do how does he get it done governor.

Well first of all the room is going to be electric they're going to be foreign.

This is a speech he gives some not so much of the people -- that -- -- have to convince them he's got to convince the people on television this is a television speech.

A little bit about himself who he -- and connecting with them on a personal level but I think what people -- looking far far more than.

-- -- -- this kind of like -- no I think they wanna know.

Can you get.

In the driver seat take the steering wheel.

And get a somewhere where we -- to be and I think he's got to lay out here's why I ought to be president -- here's what I'm gonna do when I'm elected.

Thank you governor.

Great is that you know you got -- kind of -- of real soon event Saturday and Sunday I hope so once I get pencils.

Let's -- I am not a right through Saturday as of now that's right -- center thank you Gavin thanks.
