The focus of the democratic national -- -- is going to be on President Obama of course.

But well -- launch future stars and what anybody steal the spotlight from the president.

As I said to Chris Wallace I think a lot of people are expecting that Bill Clinton the only democratic president since FDR to be reelected to a second term.

And the party hero maybe he could provide the most memorable moment of the convention.

Now here's a -- at what the scene might look like when the former president walks off the stage.

After his speech.

-- do it sent.

-- -- just -- says that's how you do it's not.

Call Ed Klein says the title of his latest book the amateur is based on Bill Clinton's true opinion about the current president New York Times best selling author joins me now -- great to have you back to be here.

By the way.

Congratulations.

On your speech at the Republican National Convention thank you I love that line in which you said that you stood shoulder to shoulder.

-- your Catholic Brothers and sisters on the question of religious freedom.

Okay thank you.

And I believe.

The luxury of dividing up among denominations people of faith have got to stand together because of that.

What I truly believe is an attack on them on all of us.

When we talked before here on this show we talked about the amazing book Q did call the amateur.

The -- -- -- based on a conversation.

In which Bill Clinton told some associates.

Barack Obama was the amateur -- right now he's got an important role he's got to go out next week in Charlotte try to sell the country that.

He's really behind Barack Obama.

It what shall we expect out of that and and does he really believe Barack Obama is the better choice to leave the country.

The answer -- that question in reverse order is no he does not think he is he in fact that's called Obama an incompetent.

An amateur among other things affect our preventable.

And I have been told by people inside the Clinton camp.

That Bill Clinton is furiously writing his speech right now for the convention in longhand.

-- -- getting these phone calls from the Obama people watching your speech watching your speech.

And he's furious if you will not tell them -- even President Obama has no idea.

-- Bill Clinton is gonna say when he stands up in front of back conventional Bill Clinton will be the Clint Eastwood at the right.

-- -- -- That we won't know how.

Nancy Pelosi we won't know what's in the speech until we hear this -- I have got it got that way too that's.

People question.

Where do you get this stuff.

Where do you get this stuff.

Well you know I wrote a book about Hillary several years ago and developed a number of sources.

Close to the Hillary.

Group the inner circle and I've continued as a reporter.

To.

Keep my contacts with the sources.

So the day and I talk off the record.

Virtually every day and I get this information about what bill is up two and you know.

Why is Hillary not going to be at the convention I asked that question.

Hillary is going to be in Vladivostok.

Russia.

You can't get any further -- from the convention and that probably not that's probably about as far away I asked why.

And I was told that.

Number one.

She wants to be above the fray -- but more importantly.

She doesn't want to be associated with this particular campaign because she personally believes privately.

That it may be going down and play.

But typically two departments don't get involved politically that's that Department of State and Department of Defense.

That would be another logical reason that she would not be at the convention and playing a major political roles.

And she's got her husband there -- with senator.

Basically playing the role for her because.

I think Bill Clinton sees 2012.

This year knotted the decisive campaign.

Fourth he's concerned 2016.

Is that -- -- of campaign.

When Hillary will be 69 years old her last chance to run for president.

And he's already starting to.

Beat those drums for her in 2060.

You you also talked not in the book is this happened subsequent to the publishing of the book and we'll talk about that in the next segment but.

You mentioned that there was a meeting at the White House Valerie Jarrett Hillary Clinton.

Not a direct offer for just sort of you know kick the tires a little bit about the what if right Joseph Biden stepped aside -- her being the BP the White House isn't damaged -- and I that there ever was such a conversation.

Tell us how we can be confident there may have been such a -- Well of course you know I spoke to somebody who spoke -- Hillary about it and Hillary.

Relates.

To this source of mind that this lunch took place very pleasant lunch with -- Valerie Jarrett who as we know is one of the three most important people in the White House after the president and the First Lady.

And though it was a policy lunch.

The subject of Joseph Biden came up and although Valerie didn't really offered the job of course that's up to the president.

A vice president she certainly indicated that.

She wondered what Hillary felt about it and Hillary said flatly that -- actually no interest in running on that ticket.

For the very simple reason that if it one think she'd have to run in 2016.

And defend the Obama record which I don't think is going to be so great next time around if -- -- Or if you lost.

And she'd be smeared as -- loser so she decided it was a lose lose proposition for her and she said no effects.

All the.
