But a shocking new study may not make the president's case for another term in office any easier as Democrats get ready kick off their convention officially tonight.

Research shows that 35% of Americans near retirement age fear they may not be able to stop working that's an increase of 6%.

Over the last four years so what about hope and change from four years ago but this democratic governor and a heck of a guy from Delaware.

Jack mark cal -- he's scheduled speaker of the Democratic National Convention governor.

Thanks so much for starting your day with us we appreciate it to say governor the -- -- -- you -- -- be pleased with the stats as we look at them into 2012.

You have to look at the progress we've made when this president took office we were losing 70800000.

Jobs a month.

We've now had winning nine straight months of job growth over four million jobs created.

The president would be the first to say we have to make more progress.

Exactly what he's focused on -- a look at this together and you might have seen this then and now so let's look at when the president took office and where we're at right now you said you're not happy.

Unemployment is -- Median income is down gasoline is up substantially almost doubled and the national debt is through the roof.

At sixteen trillion we're and that report card do you say while the -- should be doing better.

Well what -- slide is missing is the fact that there is back in January February march April of 09 so and so forth we were losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month.

-- -- it was absolutely brutal and we've now had you know we've we've actually been creating jobs and I think you know -- with -- -- reflect population growth and job creation.

The did the 800000 jobs and one expect that over losing reflect population growth does anyone really not you know -- -- it's a good point -- but if you wanna keep going back the -- 52 months of economic growth.

It -- President Bush produced.

Look there's no question that we have.

Lot still to do with the president I believe and I'm what I'm excited about for this convention is this is a great opportunity.

For the president to lay out.

Not only his plans but the very different approaches between governor Romney -- for governor Romney's plans.

And his that's what these elections all of our -- -- about these elections are about the future do you think it's possible the president says I want to build from the bottom off.

That's economically and possible to give -- to build from the bottom half with -- you've got one of benefit to people from the bottom up.

Would you can't build from the bottom of what I've heard the president says he wants to build from the middle -- and his and it's very different because he knows that the strength of our economy historically.

Has rested on a strong middle class and that's why the kinds of investments that he wants to make.

In infrastructure.

People need the right roads and bridge where we get that money.

You know what long term investments like roads like bridges public schools that just like if you buy a house you do have to -- that so there are.

There are investments were borrowing makes cents.

There's no question we've got to get control of the -- the president is focused on that but the best way of doing that.

This to have an economy that's growing if you understand what people be squeamish there's the 800 billion dollars of printed money went out and they don't people don't feel like that stimulus money.

Produced the infrastructure a lot of people thought those projects -- going there -- -- people in state and government jobs look.

That that's just not fair I mean a lot of the infrastructure money my State's a great example for people who drive from New York to Washington there's now -- -- a high speed.

Easy pass -- you know no more congestion right right -- that hopefully we spent a 1302830.

Million dollars in Delaware on transportation projects.

Absolutely put people to work immediately for projects that -- Create long term economic growth and prosperity they needed to your credit to your unemployment and anyone who are working but as well below the national average it is but the way -- -- -- we have we feel we know we've been working absolutely relentlessly focused on putting people back to work.

But we hope we also know we've got lots of work still doing governor great to see Oprah picked up ten radio saying no and -- -- -- speech.
