More now on the first lady's speech tonight and how it's expected to stack up to and Romney's.

Let's bring in Aaron pike political reporter for real clear politics so -- and are we going to hear any.

Attacks on you know Mitt Romney or or Paul Ryan from the First Lady.

Not at all Michelle Obama does not talk about -- -- in the White House says adamantly that Michelle Obama.

Does not engage in politics that's not her role she doesn't like doing it and she's very popular.

And they think that that her engaging in politics would make her a little less popular.

-- so what is the job for the First Lady them when she opens the convention with his speech.

We don't Romney you referred to her a minute ago.

Had a much bigger lift a week ago than Michelle Obama has.

No really new and Romney and in fact a lot of the -- -- of the American people and the electorate doesn't hurt that much about Mitt Romney -- am on these job was to introduce herself.

And her husband and serve as a character witness this -- Michelle Obama is serving as a character witness but remember that people.

Understand and know President Obama and her -- she's just there to serve as a validate -- to say he's been working hard he's going to continue working hard and she's validating him.

Reporter at Politico named Lois Romano wrote a.

Piece today.

In which she discusses the differences between these two ladies -- they are a generation apart obviously supporting husbands of opposite political report parties.

But she says never have to spouses in the same election.

Been such significant and strategic players in their husbands' campaigns.

You agree with that assessment I mean are these two.

You know -- of the First Lady and the potential First Lady are they really the important players.

I I think -- I've talked to some of the president's aides about this that Michelle Obama's speech will be as important as the president's.

Because Michelle Obama is -- most popular thing about the White House and she is what.

A lot of independent voters still love.

About the White House it's her so I would agree with that assessment -- and and the same is true living and -- she is what -- we kept saying last week she humanize Mitt Romney and that's really important because some people had CNET Ronnie as those stats.

And so many people are so at this point.

Not very enthused about President Obama but Michelle Obama can probably bring that back.

-- you said earlier that you know she doesn't like the political part.

Of speech making -- she made that controversial speech four years ago in which she said that for the first time in her adult life she was proud of her country.

Is that the kind of thing that she's trying to stay away from have voters forgotten that.

I think absolutely have forgotten -- an -- in fact.

Her convention speech four years ago was so important in making voters forget about that -- said that earlier in the summer.

And her entire convention speech four years ago.

-- really designed to make the public love her and it changed.

The public's feelings toward Michelle Obama and she's been very popular ever -- -- like do you think that that has been long forgotten.

Aaron pike from real clear politics there -- good to have you -- hope you enjoyed thank you the time in Charlotte this week.

I well.
