And it's not our political panel ABC news senior Washington editor Rick Klein -- -- examiner chief political correspondent Byron York.

And time magazine deputy Washington bureau chief Michael Crowley Rick first two on the first lady of the United States.

I thought it was the whole package I think it was it it was a personal speech yet he was.

Political without even mentioning that -- that you got a sense of the man of Barack Obama.

And how it fits into the broader message I think it fit well with the argument they're making really argument for government in your life although that wouldn't come out say that it is in so many words but that was that that was I think the emotional high point in the speech was.

Was making this argument about how government can help that is necessary in a life and that image that she left us with of of and it probably wanted to walk through the door letting it shut behind him I think is is the last thing one about speech at a lasting one that just -- very well -- to -- Obama's personal biography.

A real contrast between her speech and amp Romney's speech and -- and Romney was introducing herself she is trying to introduced.

Mitt Romney.

At times it was almost girlish Sampson and then Romney's speech she talked -- -- -- -- in their teens and everything.

This it was a much different speeches to say Barack is still Barack he's still that same guy you know -- in 2008.

And presumably love.

Rick is right actually did admit mentioned wrong but it didn't actually hit a few of those points I think one of the things that was most important was.

She said as she talked about throwing up she said.

We didn't begrudge anyone their success in fact we admired it.

We just believe everybody should have access to that that is in direct response to the message either Republican Convention in -- I thought it was at a very good speech but I thought that delivery was terrific they're just really think she you know.

Not the bottom part with her presentation.

-- -- -- -- very good speech she she's a little nervous I think she's had a little less practice on national stages and events like this I think Michelle Obama and Obama has had training and it really showed.

And I think that it was -- moment that probably reminded a lot of core democratic voters of the excitement and the kind of romance they -- she doesn't name is Byron center was sort of -- reintroduction.

Here's the guy that you fell four that I fell four or should I meaning she Michelle.

And an end.

Obama's life story being the story of the American dream incarnate I think.

Really conjures up those feelings that people the kind of swept a lot of people -- so I think for the peace in particular and boy he -- measured from the energy in the hall.

Other days in particular how do -- This -- is a question the undecideds out off the insides are watching yet and I -- -- a little bit and not much of a bounce coming out of other -- -- to me to wonder whether undecideds are watching or not.

But watching manage -- -- -- -- the sense so putting what you're you know voodoo on the undecideds watching just watching and -- To be -- the undecideds used to be Obama voters and a lot of them or Obama voters the idea that reminding him of the emotion of the love you and that they felt for years ago I think is important.

One line that she had tonight that that struck out -- me is I've loved for a lot more than I did.

Four years ago I don't think there's many even in the all the could honestly say that but you need to approach me about espouse Obama -- -- I -- about yeah does that how to.

Hey everybody put up the fact seconds on that but -- But about about rekindling that love the president and I also think so key -- in terms of connecting with that murder all over and over and say.

So many of us so many so many of these -- are being part of the shared American experience -- Identifying herself her marriage her husband's.

Her biography as part of the American dream and and that meant the middle class that of course is always determined -- -- an election.

Beyond that I mean he emphasized the story the undecideds in the past week or so has been disappointment -- -- we have polls we've had focus groups all talking about.

How disappointed they are in the present.

Performance she's trying to sort of -- them back up and again respond specifically to Republican she's she talked about tough for Barack successes not how much money you make.

It's a -- -- people's lives we heard that all that might Mitt Romney's really rich he's got his money in foreign bank accounts -- that's not our values.

Yeah I mean again as you say it's it's -- it's hard for me to tell how these speeches play with certain segments of voters but I think.

Did you put your finger on it my best guess is that -- you know two large measure we heard this a lot tonight.

This coming down to about a character -- So that the case that Obama did that the Obama campaign is making here tonight is this guy -- more closely connected to the problems of real Americans the struggling middle class Americans.

He's the real deal and you know the Republicans tried this in Tampa and you and you heard a lot of it from in particular and to some degree I think the question is who was gonna end up being.

More credible.

And and I think that you don't -- the best -- -- -- it that's -- -- apparently is -- watch this both conventions.

All these people trying to sort of -- what the American people feel like people went -- I didn't think we'll see I'm also a great athlete I just really -- hard like Weathers the speakers all the speakers don't went to pretty fancy schools.

They didn't go to school for people.

I grew up with us -- -- -- go to pretty good schools but and that's what allies won about that connect.

They all have to go back a generation I have my father.

You know my father was.

Does not -- -- city water water department or an -- Romney's case my grandfather was a Welsh immigrant you know they they have to go back a few generations because they have done very very well.

And both sides and and then speakers of both sides -- -- in an extension that I would -- the pretend one stick around.

British -- the panel and just a few -- --
