Hey hey hey good morning everyone unless we both I -- Rarely for Brian -- this is he'll meet new friends.
8664087669.
You probably know Brian is at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte.
People are the bulk of this -- Diana handling the transition our while -- goes from the TV set to the radio set and between what I have on tap and what he has on tap this show is packed tighter than Chris -- -- I swear to that I'll be talking to Byron York.
Brian has coming up Karl Rove joked trip be Stephen Hayes or Lanny Davis a whole bunch of people and I also want to talk with you about some of what have.
And the first night of the Democratic National Convention specifically.
Some stuff from Cory Booker and from Michelle Obama and we'll get to that.
It I think that if you agree with the notion that big government is good then the Democratic National Convention is off to a pretty good start.
I -- but I also want to talk with you first about something we started -- -- yesterday and the fallout from it the the president Obama's grating of himself.
Within incomplete.
Now if you it would make reference to yesterday but there's been continued.
Fallout from it and granted it I have to say that the question to begin -- is kind of a lazy question from a reporter Natalie easy question but maybe.
A small market question right.
But he was little local interview and in fact those little ones lately that he -- first he preferred stock into the morning -- and he -- talking to good morning Allentown or you know hello Fresno.
Rather than taking questions from the white house press corps.
So the answer I thought was interest in the answer says a -- -- -- number eight.
-- Your party says you inherited a bad situation.
You've had three and a half years to fix it what grade would you give yourself so far for doing.
You know -- I was incomplete but.
What I would say is the steps that we've taken -- saving the auto industry and making sure college is more affordable and investing and clean energy and science and technology -- search.
Those were all the things that were going to be.
To rural reform -- Saudis say the -- the man can give -- of a passing grade or he would do it it's not like he's wrist rest reticent to do it more humble it no problem grating himself with a half decent grade with Oprah.
Number ten please.
What grade would you give yourself.
For this year.
Good solid B ports.
It was one year into his presidency.
And he's been downgraded like Pitt credit rating of the United States from a B -- down to an incomplete.
8664087669.
As a number here I mean does that cut it would you incomplete after a full turn.
Anyway I heard that I thought for so well -- -- -- a four year school and school is almost over.
And I thought that an incomplete turns into an -- if you don't do something to rectify it before the beginning of the next turn.
Which is where we are now now on Johnson knew knew I had something to say about this I'm loving John Sununu lately he's like a -- ball with this -- stuff.
And he even -- -- -- -- was actually a professor.
A former engineering professor at tufts.
So he knows a little something about students -- completes number thirteen -- Believe I used to -- -- this news.
-- -- the -- other ones that.
Their responsibilities.
Are the ones that.
-- deliver what we do what they were expected to deliver.
So aside from analyzing this metaphor so literally you know and -- as I have been comparing it to actually completing school.
This circulated would -- in the presidency answer over the last 24 hours.
The majority irritated me to be honest with you the incomplete grade.
Is obviously part of -- -- Obama's ongoing effort to blame all his failures on his predecessor.
Selling the idea to voters voters and nobody.
Nobody could've done a better job than Barack Obama dealing with this.
Supposedly horrendous aftermath of the bush years.
-- is that really gonna work.
Has any president ever camp pain successfully.
And insisting that four years just wasn't enough to contain his brilliance.
That's.
To expect results within four years I mean I strongly doubt that.
For several reasons first of all the entire notion that a president can't be judged fairly a mere four years into his presidency.
I think -- strike many voters it as being weak.
And evasive that's how it struck me.
Americans.
Overall are pretty strong willed competitive people -- not a helpless nation -- dependent children as President Obama sees us.
-- I suggest sort of this sir is this -- dislike.
Irresponsibility.
And excuse making and that's what inning complete idiots.
I mean they do not.
View Americans don't view the Oval Office as a position.
Fittingly occupied by a whiny teenager who complains that the dog -- his homework that's what inning complete its.
Americans generally I think don't believe that a four year term of office for the presidency is too short for years is a long time results are expected.
Give -- number eleven please Charles Krauthammer.
On this issue business and I -- complete.
Three -- vision of the presidency.
I don't know it was over to Harvard Law School.
But at the medical school side if you got an incomplete in graduate you can get your MB in practice but forget about Harvard Obama by his own standard.
He said in an interview very early in his presidency.
That if he didn't have this thing -- by three years.
He was a one term deal and they might this is there one time where I agree -- Obama.
I mean obviously and I think people who voted for Barack Obama last time -- being impression that they were buying into an eight year term.
The unique eight year terms and as Charles Krauthammer referred.
Obama himself strongly and sort of unambiguously.
Rejected that reasoning once upon a time that's number twelfth.
-- at the start of my administration one nice thing about.
The situation -- on -- -- is that I will be held accountable.
You -- -- got four years and I -- quickly how people -- network that that's exactly right and and did all year from now I think people are gonna save it.
We're starting to make some progress but.
There's still going to be some -- out there if I don't have this done in three years.
Then there's going to be a one term proposition.
Yeah well that's when you sounded like you are accountable back then.
So please an excuse and as I say over the last 24 hours it irritated me more and more it's like he had -- do so well but -- -- of during.
Most people feel that four years is sufficient time to show us more than we been shown so far.
Here's what inning complete looks like right now eight point 3% unemployment sixteen trillion in debt and four dollar gas.
If that's what inning complete looks like I'd rather you didn't finish the job.
In the face of these results I would say an incomplete is rather generous Smart it is absurd to ask the American people to re elect a man who can't even give himself a passing grade.
And then there's this little tidbit.
From President Clinton.
In the -- just before the -- -- -- ten elections.
Number sixteen don't go back and reverse give us two more years have been done -- you have another election just who you're urging voters allowed Stanford for goodness sakes.
We put -- don't write back the -- would get -- That was in 2010 if we don't get it done in two more years -- out.
President Clinton in the area is -- coming back on stage tonight to tell you to give -- Obama four more years and one last thing here on this.
Antonio the year -- -- who is the mayor of Los Angeles and a key person in the democratic national.
Convention.
The year -- -- answer was almost to this issue was almost comical to me except that he thought it was a persuasive answer.
He gave the -- in an a for effort.
I give him.
-- -- -- Making sure that Americans are better off today than they were four years ago.
I think he's being humble.
When he says that.
I do believe that we need four more years.
-- -- -- In the old days it was.
AB CD and -- half.
And it -- -- was eat it wasn't a grade it was a nice way of hitting somebody.
Well bless his heart he tried to it's what you give kids when you know they can't cut it.
And but you don't want to hurt their feelings it's not for grown men who asked for the most important job in the world president of the United States.
This is the presidency of the United States you don't get a pass.
You don't get to make excuses you don't get points for trying and failing.
The American people expect results if you can't do the job and we need to get someone in -- who can't it's not a job for trial and error in in this case.
Mostly.
Error.
-- One last thing here and Nikki Haley.
South Carolina governor had something to say about it as well yes I have a ten year old a fourteen year old I know what's on -- report card they came home and an incomplete that means they fail.
Unless there is summer school there is no summer school so he is basically said I didn't get the job done.
There you -- 8664087669.
When I come back I'll talk about some of the things that happened last night.
And the Democratic National Convention stage endlessly gold in for a little while for Brian Kilmeade this is Kilmeade -- friends.
