What is now the former speechwriter.

President Clinton just got timers -- as he helped draft president Clinton's State of the Union Address in 99 and 2000 as well as his speech to the DNC.

In the year 2000 I don't -- didn't -- good to see -- too.

He writes his own speech he does the whole thing.

I was at the table late last night all day gets -- apparently all day at a hotel room at the table of yellow legal -- writing and LS at the end of the nose like that -- -- see the glass maybe he writes on -- legal -- not in my bed not -- legal pads longhand.

All right and then how long is this supposed to be and what's his goal.

I think his goal listed -- it there's no better surrogate for the Democratic Party than Bill Clinton.

And think of goals to get not only get the basic side indicating at the base side of it also appeal to independents -- class Americans -- help -- from the deaths that with the white Americans.

-- I think in terms of making the case for great times the Democratic Party and for great time for our country.

No one's better than former president you -- deficit in white Americans would you.

Method if you look at some of the polling there's that there is that I -- now there's some gaps in terms of demographics and I think he has just a great appeal across the table and I think he will.

You know unlike many -- -- out there he he and embodies touching everybody.

In one fell swoop.

And and why is it that it could be used to write speeches for and what why the world would he sit down and do this all by himself.

I mean it's not like the President Clinton kick it'll help -- -- that -- he of course that people around and help line a lot people sent -- ideas and he's reached -- he always does what kind of idea.

I think he wants -- he he he always in the way he's always wrote speeches back in the White House and since.

He picks up the phone loves to call people late night early morning make phone calls and asks what do you think which we talking about but he's also out in the country -- talking to real Americans.

All the time and getting input wants to hear what they think the argument should be I think that all boils in him he's gonna make a strong case to.

Why there's no better choice here for both making investments.

Today but also for the future if you remember when he -- president.

It's a great time great economic times that he not only was fiscally responsible but also made the case we have to keep investments in education innovation and jobs.

I think he'll make that case again tonight and say that.

There's no better person to continue that legacy than Barack Obama is Derek is there a concern that when Bill Clinton gets up on the stage in the middle of a big democratic event.

That everybody's gonna remember those times and how Haiti they were and how money was -- and at times were great and maybe the contrast with that in these difficult days -- too easy thing too because I think he'll also remind people.

Of what it was like when the Republicans were charges I think refresh people's memories and say.

Those -- huge hole big ditch -- -- -- it it takes time we've got momentum.

On the way there this was an easy and we'll rebuild it but he'll remind people that.

Democrats can be in charge and also have great this great.

Fiscal responsibility but economic boom first big football game of the regular season the giants and the cowboys tonight over on fox I guess he's aware that I wonder how that -- I think that he'll do very well viewers and -- people be -- -- I'd be doing switching between them big giant fan so a lot of people are gonna miss either.

Our little bit it'll be a big night it's a big tent he bring -- everywhere you -- bring ever won in and I think that the party is more unified.

Than ever before and now with him out there.

I think -- It seems like a lot of people -- that they'll hardcore base or not unified at all lot of humor seem very unhappy about some things have happened under this administration I think we're better than last week in Tampa I think and I think Bill Clinton.

Reminds people how great it was brings everyone together reminds them what the other side to look like the alternative is much worse.

And we're doing well and he's just gonna have to -- of that again it's it's part of the president to do what a surrogate can do -- -- and and they have brag on him.

And I think Clinton is very good at not just talking about his accomplishments.

But also will.

Dovetail nicely into what -- Obama has done and I think that's what we're gonna see the argument tonight he's always entertainment.

He's gonna forget that level or we'll look at the -- just got I was if this if they keep the care.
