-- the governor Massachusetts Deval Patrick is president Obama's close friend.

Last night Patrick spoke at the convention.

Mitt Romney talks a lot about all -- -- C six I can tell you Massachusetts.

Was not one of them.

-- a -- and fellow.

And -- great salesman.

But as governor.

He was a lot more interested in having the job then doing the job.

-- well let's take a look at governor Romney's record as opposed to governor Patrick's when Romney left office in 2007 unemployment Massachusetts was four point 6%.

Now under Patrick it's six point 1%.

When -- left office 10% of Massachusetts residents lived in poverty under Patrick eleven and a half percent or poor.

The filing during Romney's term in office he cut the deficit from three billion dollars to seventeen million.

Under Patrick the deficit has risen from 946.

Million to one point three billion.

And Patrick's criticizing Romney's performance.

Join us now from Charlotte -- powers Fox News analyst and Marion marsh.

Is there as well a democratic consultant who lives and works in Boston so -- I just boss.

Governor Patrick -- -- was.

Not -- well I mean Scott Romney and Patrick were governors are very different times.

And Romney balance the budget on the backs of the very people who were at least supported by raising fees and services and everyday people for everyday things he wanted to get married the season -- up he wanted to go ice skating the fees one up.

If you wanted to buy gas -- season and up and if you were blinded needed -- services this season and -- -- my tune of 750.

Million dollars.

Deficit went down.

I mean from three billion dollars heading to California territory.

To a few million.

And then when a Democrat gets even without Patrick -- now you you're right very different times and in the recession.

Causes some kind of you know unemployment spike in poverty spike.

But there have been governors in states of Ohio case it seeded Indiana Mitch Daniels state of Virginia and com.

Who have improve the economy in the teeth of the recession and Deval Patrick has so my question to the government should he decide to come on the program.

And that would be when hell freezes over who is I don't think this is a guy you want to criticize when your record is worse -- -- am -- wrong.

Well that they were very different times but let's after Mitt Romney credit for what where credit is due and I think he did a lot of good things when he was governor and I think balancing the budget was one of those things Marion is right there were a lot of cuts.

That occurred.

But unfortunately when you need to balance the budget you have to make -- and so I think that.

I give him credit for that.

In the Bay Area where he.

Most valid criticism -- get the job situation indeed here all the time he was you know -- -- he's 47.

Country in terms of creating jobs during a -- a different.

Economic time and so that's what's really relevant right now because.

Fifteen that's that is boldness.

Because they almost had -- -- full employment.

They're four and a half percent unemployment in Massachusetts those people are heroin addicts those people are people who.

Walk into walls.

Okay.

How do you bring the unemployment rate down from four and a half percent fits it's about as -- as it gets.

For now and a half percent of the population.

Can't work -- won't work.

They're done they're -- or lay abouts.

Everybody knows that.

It's a question of how many jobs being created and I think people who are who -- nonpartisan.

Observers haven't said that he wasn't that great at creating job creating what it's not something they need everybody's working on people everybody went home I don't think that's true I'd I don't let's hear.

They -- deferred to -- -- know you.

But would -- to -- LSU isn't he yeah.

I'm very you know there isn't all boldness but my point is I'm not here to defend Mitt Romney and so my job.

I'm here -- citizens politicians like develop -- Get your column on the Republican side as well don't tell intrude.

But don't let anyone advertising -- -- -- We're talking about it because Mitt Romney wants to be president.

And hear the facts speak only state that was doing as badly as Massachusetts at the time creating jobs -- Louisiana after Katrina state government doubled.

When the private sector did not.

In job increases nationally with the increasing it 5% Massachusetts was even married or what is it about the -- -- point six unemployment that you don't understand.

You can't create jobs where everybody's work.

I don't want anything this week.

But when you cut the things I talked about the services -- -- cut education K through twelve in the higher at.

Those are the things that people can you know -- -- one of the best education scores.

He admitted that he.

He cut hundreds of millions of dollars in education you and I both know and they still -- -- solid -- -- -- -- over the top ten year.

And people still need to move up the economic -- -- getting better jobs in you do that with a better education to cut those things and experiences and the cut education nothing.

Kids are operating at a good edit clip that's higher than almost every -- -- state.

And you see it and you can cut money in -- -- of that system and the kids are still doing well you cut money out of the system and I am.

That wasn't bad way he then -- The tax rates for the wealthiest -- cuts and tax rate for corporations.

After cutting all of those services and every -- people an everyday items that's not where I was.

Harry and I -- when when Romney was governor you live there and I was there all the time that seat boom.

It was -- the kids -- learning you have Obama's -- you have Romney here.

Everybody was getting what they needed there.

Deval Patrick would say.

Here's then if he would say look I I have polls Mitt Romney's philosophy.

Hmmm I don't want.

A -- robust.

Capitalistic market place where it's every man for himself I can understand that.

But he misrepresented.

The governor's tenure I would gladly submit this Mitt Romney ran against Deval Patrick the governor Massachusetts.

Romney win.

Last word Pearson golf.

Yes look I think that there has been a lot of misrepresentations.

Both the the conventions.

And -- -- -- -- one really great things something that Republicans don't wanna give -- you know want to pretend it was a real total failure that was Romney care and that is something that.

Major major accomplishment and I don't I think he.

That person -- Massachusetts it's not the person running.

I think he's thinking -- he never would have gotten the Republican nomination and -- -- I love the idea that you have to Steward and its parent losing your little that he wasn't terrible.

I'm glad I wasn't a terrible governor and I think he's the same guy because he cut that deficit from three billion dollars.

Down -- few millions and that's what he's gonna have to do.

In the USA I don't know whether you cannot.

But that would be as mandate if elected ladies.
