As a platform problem overshadow the party's message.

Let's go to Charlotte for a fair and balanced debate we had -- -- delegate and Obama campaign fundraiser Brian Benjamin.

And Carolina made from the daily caller thank you but for joining us early this morning.

-- -- do so Benjamin I want to start with you what about this controversy over the platform and why do you think it was added back again.

Well the for most of those delegates it wasn't really controversy I mean many of us weren't in the -- of the time.

And quite frankly you know it it takes away from what we should all be talking -- -- the economy but.

In regards to -- what it says.

It's it's not really an issue that we found compelling and so I find this woman media conversation and -- issue that delegates or or the country cares about.

But -- clearly the delegates were not happy and they and after this.

Two thirds -- voice vote that was taken not once but three times lots of delegates -- there in the hall screaming no.

-- lots of a small number it was it was most of us weren't there at at such early time I mean it was really the platform committee that that you had.

If you had there -- most of us were even on alerted about the fact that there was an issue for us to vote on so I mean.

We'll be you know I understand beautiful immediate respect of this this looks like a lot -- happening but from a technical standpoint.

The majority of -- when I got to the floor around 7 o'clock falcon one to talk about was what I was Bill Clinton get in there.

And you know it it really wasn't something that we were focused on as delegates knives and as a as have from a media perspective it looked like something very very large -- I'm just -- and tell me what do you think about this controversy I.

Yeah I think the -- -- it -- a little bit off -- it you know it paints the party is more extreme in the center of the country.

And they're really looking to get -- independent voters and and when you when things like god and you know having Dodgers lament the capital of Israel -- Somehow bad IE I think that it really -- that Democratic Party is out of touch.

-- I think that probably.

You know having -- come out and try and bring -- more.

Defend -- if it was able -- that was probably good but in terms of the optics of that fountain at midday it just.

With the free Iraq.

Thank your life since you mentioned -- how do you think.

-- former President Bill Clinton did in terms of being able to get some of those swing states and -- independent voters city your service to Obama.

I think he didn't harvest comes out he's he's he -- -- a great politician.

He let me -- haven't -- for the president but there's a lot this Alison there you know you walked out to his camp his old campaign.

Don't -- me -- tomorrow and yet and yet.

We -- thinking about tomorrow with that speech for thinking about the past and have I think Obama really can you talk about his plans for the future instead of having.

Former President Clinton hit -- very popular run run defense for him you know for his you know somewhat unpopular.

I economic policies and all they had some of the more more extreme things that have been going on and that Manning Ryan -- about twenty seconds left what do you think about President Clinton.

For flooding was amazing and he really laid out the fact that when you look at Mitt Romney.

Arithmetic is not part of -- conversation while he went to business school.

He had his his policies don't make sense when you look at what -- -- do -- this country and so he laid that out and act sets the stage the President Obama to show his vision which is a realistic vision.

For the United States.

America and we'll see President Obama speaks for fifty minutes over the long as being yeah.

He for joining us this morning -- appreciated -- -- -- -- -- -- thank you.
