This is 10 o'clock in the morning good morning wherever you are we are twelve hours away from President Obama making his case for a second term.

He is on the biggest stage later tonight of his campaign you'll see -- live in Charlotte.

Last night the pitch from heavyweight Democrats including Bill Clinton they made the case for his reelection bid Bill Clinton saying that no one could do the job.

Given the many challenges that America is facing when President Obama into office he said not even him it's better that.

I'm Bill Hemmer welcome here live in Charlotte good morning -- -- am -- -- Martha.

I'm doing great morning to you again -- and the everybody come on Martha MacCallum so tonight.

Big night for President Obama he will now have to make his own pitch.

For a second term and carve out his vision to the best of his ability to the American people so last night we heard some more Democrats telling their story.

One of the things as being raised now is whether that story is always accurate so we're checking some of the facts.

From senate candidate Elizabeth Warren and all the way to former President Bill Clinton from all but yeah I'm Molly Henneberg is on that now Morris says some fact checking out of Washington what you found out Molly good morning there.

Hi bill even reporting on your show this week about the national debt you know it's over sixteen trillion dollars.

Let's look at what the former president President Clinton said about the national debt and how it's risen under various presidents.

Don't you ever forget.

When you hear them talking about this.

That Republican.

Economic policies quadruple the national debt.

Before I took office in the twelve years before I took off.

And double that -- In the eight years after Ron -- What -- it -- the arithmetic.

That's all mostly true but it leaves out a key retail.

Here's what it's true from 1980 when president Ronald Reagan took office to 1992 and President Clinton took office.

The debt went up from 934.

Billion to four point 167 trillion and that is more than four times increase.

Then from 2001 president George W.

Bush took office to the day when President Obama came into the White House the debt didn't quite double as President Clinton said.

But it went up 85%.

Now here's what the -- President Clinton left out he did not mention what has happened to the debt since President Obama took office.

In three years and seven months the national debt has increased by five point four trillion dollars.

And that's about two thirds of what presidents Reagan bush 41 and bush 43 racked up altogether.

-- Before that we heard from Elizabeth -- she's running for the senate against Scott Brown of Massachusetts what did you check on her Molly.

Yes Elizabeth Warren running -- Democrat running in Massachusetts also a former treasury department's official.

Repeated something that a number of Democrats have said at the convention about taxes going up on middle class families in out Romney administration.

But for middle class families who are hanging on -- their fingernails.

His plan will hammer them with a new tax hike of up to 2000.

Dollars.

Fact check dot org says this quote.

Their comments are based on August 1 report from the Tax Policy Center.

That concluded that it's simply not mathematically possible for Romney to lower tax rates across the board as he has proposed without losing revenue which is also promised -- shifting the tax burden to the middle class and quote.

The Romney campaign refutes that study says it was done by former Obama staffer.

And governor Romney has said repeatedly including at the Republican Convention last week that he will not raise taxes on the middle class.

Bill.

Molly thanks fact checking in Washington Molly Henneberg month.
