-- let's bring -- the vice chair of the Democratic National Committee -- right back is with -- he's also the mayor of the city of Minneapolis the great city in the season.

Well that didn't go great did.

Well you do what happened was that we wanted to have a platform that reflected a president not a novel idea that's important on -- wild but I mean you don't ask that the -- says that two thirds of the vote now I don't -- -- like -- never happened it has happened it happened with the Republicans as well so.

But that said.

Thought let's let's also remember you got a big no -- god that that that's never fun is this.

Let's remember that very important that -- platform reflect the present the second most important thing -- -- -- that was taken for most of delegates were in the room.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- Very important issue and why do it's a very important issue -- about why do it like that wanted to separate from the finish but -- I know but you don't have limited time and but I don't know that that's a very I don't -- -- -- -- but you can go all day.

And what I'm really curious about is why would you do it in that way when you knew that there was this possibility I mean the mayor of Los Angeles.

Think they're reading the thing in doing it again and doing it again and doing it a fourth time.

And then clearly there was in the two thirds vote -- -- Just let it go want to let me explain to break the play evidence that we wanted to platform that reflects the president.

But the technical decision when mostly all the different in the -- they -- something but let's face it.

The main thing that folks are talking about here is that Michelle Obama -- the phenomenal.

Actually -- -- that we don't know is that really one of them is this up because you know the problem is that what Republicans want to do to you.

Please call you the party of the out -- of not god.

Call you have godless party they wanted to do that within wanted to talk about that but I'd love to talk about but about what I want and -- also let's talk about please but with what it appears that you just don't find -- Handed them on a silver platter commercials for the next 55 days.

While that may not have been the most perfect men doing this no long god that -- and.

-- can do OK so now we've spent most of the time when you talk about that let me touch all right thank.

The fact of the matter is the president of the United States that would be a better person -- is deeply rooted in guy.

That's a major important part of and one of the reasons frankly I personally came to this president because he expresses that.

For the last four years he's been huge attempt to talk about the president's case.

The reality is -- -- president -- is deeply space center of the party that respects all your points I think that's a good thing.

That may not have been perfect thing to -- -- your mind that this president is driven by his faith and respects all people.

-- people wouldn't have been apart and it looks as if what you're doing in the first place is acknowledging the fact that within your figures in the big tent party.

You have atheists in your party -- have Arab Americans you have all different kinds of faith and lack of faith in you acknowledging that by leaving that word out.

Why not just owned it has clearly that's what was happening wasn't it.

This is probably.

There's one place where I've discussed this in my three girls and so it's we don't discuss -- -- but the reality is that I've had.

Massive numbers or discussions of delegates were talking about the economy.

An economy that the president is running on his record.

That's something we spent most of time talking we're talking about the fact that we want to move forward on on all sorts of different issues in this country.

What when we came in at this convention -- was all -- of controversy and questions from this Phil and others about whether the president would run his record.

That's what we're doing and a beautiful thing about this convention.

We've come out saying we are dramatically better off we were four years ago we have an economy that is moving forward we have a long way to go over we don't wanna -- about the past.

If you've heard Bill Clinton was trying to be heard Michelle Obama super delegates we're not talking about in positions and I just thought it.

The great thing as bad.

We that we walked into -- Washington was paralyzed we put a president that who has earned every gray hair in his -- And he did that in a way that I think Billy has tried to bring this country together.

So I think tonight he'll finish the job and the job will be really thing that we have a a great country that's come a long long way from let's -- -- -- about it.

Mr.

mayor it's great to see you congratulations I thought much all right thank you well we've got.
