You did not see a single Hispanic elected official is elected statewide speaking at this convention.

A week ago in Tampa.

You had two sitting governors.

Both of whom are Hispanic.

Susanna Martinez and -- cent of all you had senator Marco Rubio and then.

You had me from our campaign attacks -- there's a stark difference and I think part of the reason is.

In the Democratic Party likes to put every one of these in these little categories.

And it and they they pigeon hole you hear that quote Hispanic how -- -- way and that's and that is unfortunately in their party all you are once you're gonna pigeon hole.

Whereas I think Republicans look at people as individuals right and we have candidates that can appeal statewide because they don't run just in whatever ethnic category to have anything.

I just want to bring this -- evidently it's pretty cool.

Especially in Texas watching Castro -- -- like watching a high school all star game at this is.

And they says we're going to be watching these players competing at high levels through many many years that's from dictionaries director of politics at that USC.

So we see the talent on both sides.

For one thing I heard throughout the three days is the DREAM Act.

The -- using that eighteen months where kids brought here at a young age by their parents aboard another country and might be illegal.

You got to pass that is what is that like inside the Hispanic community.

Well let me say resonating well correct it -- let me say quickly I think anyone has ever seen my lousy jump shot would never think of me -- high -- all our game it's recorded.

I get a look that that the -- enacted immigration more generally it is an issue I think a lot of Democrats hope to use as a wedge issue in the Hispanic community.

And and the strategy the strategy we saw.

Here in Charlotte is a strategy to steer the Hispanic community.

I don't think it's working and and I think the values in the Hispanic community that that resonate.

Conservative balance right -- -- tickets and -- this is not news to but it might be to our audience.

-- poll voters who you're supporting it looks very much in the presence corner he's 61% say the president's my guy.

The governor Romney so -- got 29%.

He probably needs another five or six points to secure the election how does he do it -- have -- well look at it -- that.

There's no doubt that it is critical for Republicans that that we convey our message in the Hispanic community and do a better job.

Bush in 2004 got 44% of Hispanic vote John McCain barely got 31% we lost.

A third of that community and for years Republicans can't keep doing that.

I think the way to do it is to convey conservative values but do -- no way that this.

Brings people together I mean one of the biggest differences I think between Tampa and Charlotte.

-- -- the message we're all messages were all about uniting people bringing people together.

Behind principles of freedom opportunity entrepreneur worship the incredible opportunity.

That is present in the power to the American dream you have when government gets out of the way and Freeman and -- women are able to work to their potential.

Here in Charlotte it was a very different message was a message of division it was a message of trying to scare people and turn them against.

I think that's unfortunate I think it's a cynical strategy.

And I think it's sad how far we've come from just four years ago the positive optimistic campaign Barack -- It's going to be great sixty days has really fascinating to take you play a key role and I love -- decision to sink the podium walk around Handspring you're the only one to do that in Tampa.
