Donald Trump is -- proud American and he joins us live right now good morning to you mr.
trump good morning hey odds so bought the conventions.
Each of these parties wound up with their candidates getting bumps what do you make of it.
Well the Democrats got a much bigger bump unfortunately.
And they -- a very good convention legislation I think the Republican Convention.
First -- -- was terrified the hurricane serve or a lack of barricade you know if there can never really hit -- he would step -- but -- -- -- they probably had to do what they did but the fact is that.
-- Democrats gave a great convention there's no question about it.
What do you make of the media coverage does that have anything to do with that are just you're looking at -- straightforward if you watched fox if you watched primetime coverage on the network.
Well I think no matter what happens -- Democrats were going to be given -- marks haven't really given -- you know etc.
but they did run a very good convention and I think.
I would have liked to have seen Sarah -- -- I would have liked to have seen some people -- that -- invited to speak.
And they you know I think the Republican led did not have the -- -- that a lot of people that people say what they waited they come from.
Are you talking about yourself because you were supposed to be there to give a surprise can you tell us why -- I know my day got knocked out we had a great surprise -- -- -- what it was -- -- great surprise but my -- got knocked out with the barricade.
But you know I think Sarah Palin just -- I think others should've spoken -- and I think.
I think the Republicans are themselves a little bit it wasn't.
The same now I have to tell you I wanted to be great I also thought -- Actually you know I'm in them and obviously Lindsay just got absolutely killed he did but I -- particular -- He was having fun up there he restored a good job they're people who have -- so I think that voters are gonna respond to play but I thought -- -- a good job.
They absolutely killed you know the so called liberal media what they did what they did -- it was -- well.
Well how about this case did the the governor was supposed to governor -- -- to do something you know you know well now.
-- supposed to define himself and let people know who we is was he effective at that.
Well I think he was and I think that day he made a nice speech I think and -- and it was absolutely fantastic she was a star she did great up not surprised at all because I've gotten a -- -- has staked.
I also think Michelle Obama did a very good -- If there are a lot of very good jobs but I think the Democrats had more appropriate people to the party that the Republicans.
This -- there was also Bill Clinton who gave a great if not very long speech.
On behalf of the current president he didn't -- -- you know the day after the president gave his speech O'Donnell and you know by all accounts the president.
Flat in comparison to similarly.
Soaring rhetoric that we've heard in the past.
The day after out pops the jobs number and it just couldn't be worse for -- for the White House only 96000.
People left the jet -- you know -- the hunt for jobs for every job created for people drop out.
It couldn't this economic news couldn't get worse for the -- right.
It was a bad report it was a very bad report was not covered as badly and his.
You know -- the wage should have been but frankly I you know I'm listing to made in America or made in the USA will regardless of what he's saying.
Why is -- doing something about China he never taxed giant he's not stopping the problem of China.
And he just doesn't do it.
Now you're gonna have with a real job numbers -- 40% eighteen to 40%.
Could even be 21%.
Did not eight point quarter rate point 3% you so you have unemployment to -- that's great assets and the problem.
This China and other country -- Could also be that according to one of his advisors and a lot of those people of the 360000.
Just flat out stopped looking for work.
That there are all going back to school here here's a singles be -- -- -- -- If you look over the last year.
The unemployment rate is down a full percentage point and most of that is from people getting new jobs is not from a reduction in the labor force I think the fact that some people are choosing to go to school and that shows up in the data at the end of this summer.
Is not a big surprise.
You group that's way out it's a beauty everywhere you here that look they've given up.
And and they get taken off the -- I just don't understand they did get they give up what job they give up.
Almost -- -- -- give up but the country because what you look at -- they're actually give it up for the country investing it.
And then they take him off the rolls and it makes it look like we're doing better.
School is it is so little as a percentage it's unbelievable that a -- back to school they're going -- to a room.
And they're crying.
Well you know yesterday governor Romney said listen my plan will cut taxes.
Tax rates by 20%.
Bob we'll we'll we will not have to increased it will it will get an increase in revenue from growth.
-- -- yesterday talking more about his plan let's listen.
You've called the debt and our deficit a moral crisis and -- in addition to extending the bush tax cuts you wanna cut tax rates and additional.
-- rejected -- ten to one spending ratio when it comes to spending to increasing taxes.
And yet you want to balance the budget.
The math simply doesn't add up does it.
Well actually it does and that the good news is that five different economic studies including one at Harvard and prince and that BEI and a couple of the Wall Street Journal poll -- that if we bring down our top rates and actually go across the board bring down rates for everyone in America.
But also limit deductions and exemptions for people at the high end.
What you can keep the progressivity in the code you can remain revenue neutral and you created enormous incentive for growth in the economy.
Do you -- his case.
Well it's got to make his case look you have to cut expenses that you can't raise taxes and that's basically what he's saying you're gonna cut taxes and cut expenses and you can do it.
The one thing I have to tell the Republicans they've got to get tougher if they don't get tough they're not gonna win this so any example it's tough like had -- you should tell you get tough.
Well I think there -- a lot of ways of getting tough I think they're pandering to Obama I think they're being so nice to Obama it's unbelievable.
And John McCain made that mistake he absolutely made that mistake and -- there is this just afraid to attack this man.
And he should be attacked if you look at the job he's done in the lousy job he's done as president should be attacked and they're afraid to attack them.
And it's disgraceful.
And I won't even get into specifics but there are many specifics that maybe will talk about next.
Monday -- one of the premises of David Gregory's question was it seems as though the underpinnings of the economy are good very good.
Is it Donald Trump do you see the underpinnings of the economy the foundation.
As very good.
Well David Gregory is a had total advocated -- -- almost be paid.
But David Gregory is an advocate as are many many other people -- right before Obama's so he puts the put a question that way -- raises the question that way.
And frankly it's disgraceful I watch the interview and I think it was disgraceful if you want to know the truth I think the questions and it don't -- ridiculous.
But David Gregory is -- Obama I think it.
So -- O'Donnell one of the reasons I think that Romney and Ryan decided at least of the convention.
Individually attack President Obama -- mean Ryan -- a little bit more than Romney.
Is because I think that they had heard from their strategic teams that they really needed to do outreach to the independence.
And that the independence may -- don't wanna hear.
Those brazen attacks would you agree with that.
Their team is wrong if they are wrong.
You've got to attack Obama you've got -- attacked him strongly you've got to talk about what a horrible job he's doing as president.
They're afraid to attack them they don't want to be called racist because anytime -- say anything bad about Obama.
You get called -- races you know Clinton was called a racist.
And there's nobody less of a -- that Bill Clinton my dog well he's a friend abide left.
They don't want to be called racist I don't want to attack him and if they don't attack can guess what they're not gonna win the election right.
Had Donald Trump was little advice to the Romney team Donald thank you very much that we will see it thank you very much.
