Former vice president Dan Wheldon it's obviously is really relax it is the same Mitt Romney is -- unless presents a visitor logs but you've heard -- from.
Tea parties alike that that they're they're getting -- -- getting nervous they don't like the way the party is behaving evidence back.
Ford's brief period in congress and they don't like the -- -- presidential nominee so many of -- OK let's take.
Congress first -- you gotta have a reality check here is you as you would say.
The Republicans control the house.
The Democrats control senate.
And the Democrats control the White House now if you gonna get something done yet all three have to have to work together.
You would think by listening to a lot of the media that the Republicans in the congress run the show they don't run the show -- as a matter fact of the three.
They are the weakest I've served in the house has served in the senate -- and White House and the house is from a political point of view it's the weakest that's the way the framers have made it.
So the idea that nothing's getting done the reason nothing is getting done and I concur with who are saying that -- because there's no leadership from the president.
You know the president has to lead they have to leave the congress he's got to work with the house -- got to work with the senate.
He's been a -- basically since last march or April he basically said I'm just gonna go campaign and he's been in campaign -- As the Republicans over all right that's right president well I mean when they agreed it is sequestration things -- -- automatic.
Cuts announced some of them are trying to back away from that I mean it does make one question how serious don't know OK I -- that's a whole different deal.
That was a big a budget deal that they made at the eleventh that it -- weren't out of it.
Well another trying to figure out what's gonna happen -- -- If if Romney gets elected.
They'll kick the can down the road for six months and I think good Mitt Romney has -- better chance of getting the house and senate to work on something.
That is good for the country -- does Obama if Obama gets elected to be done during.
The other lame duck and feel pres Obama might just let the whole thing -- you know he doesn't mind that -- -- Freshman Ronnie -- to scare mr.
vice president is that Mitt Romney might not be who some of them cynically.
Say he he has that that that when it came to is endorsing the -- of the president's health care plan which might be very meritorious that.
Protecting those preexisting conditions -- kids etc.
That is not as unequivocal as he was a couple of weeks ago the convention saying I'm gonna rip this thing apartment surfers stay in office.
-- but the clip you just showed good said repeal and replace.
It wasn't just repeal is repeal and replace and that's what has been you know he's trying to run himself to the middle -- -- you know you're.
Well look at he's going after the independence and he's learned after the 10% -- suppose we haven't made -- -- of their mind obviously.
But is he changing his mind -- -- changing using flip flopping which a lot of his critics -- now he's said all along repeal and replace and most of -- Reminder that -- party who might have been.
Unfairly.
Getting his nose out of joint but I heard from others like him mister vice president say.
We'll wait a minute -- where Benoit you know your your son in Arizona was beaten by a far more conservative candidates have been.
Your -- fairly or not represented.
And it it it and accepting acquiescing.
-- Of the Republican Party I don't think that -- still there but put that that there there is a battle going on among Republicans and they're not all happy -- Still it -- my -- has a conservative but I still in the congress he tries to get something done.
Some people just don't care about getting anything done you you have to get things done in a compromise your principles -- you have certain principles or you're just not gonna compromise.
You have to get things done to move the country forward to -- it to authorities are hurting the party.
No I think that tea party's heart is clear in the right way but what makes good start going after Mitt Romney saying that he's flip flopping -- -- not one of us when he says preexisting conditions ought to stay.
As part of the law to me that's replacing.
The obamacare Obama -- -- the objection is the mandate.
And that's really the whole thing is the mandate -- the increased costs that are of them go into the health care system so as I said I just heard you heard your tape gonna fight anything inconsistent at all.
Yeah I it -- -- -- and -- know sir when you endured were senior were running there was always this sort of angst among the -- conservatives.
That hey are they what they appear -- -- and I'm not saying it's that way now but I am saying that maybe only to the fact.
This race is still -- the battleground states.
Romney and Ryan are -- that.
They're they're showing their frustration more what do you.
It's gonna -- there's a lot of frustration out there the under employed as you have.
Eloquently pointed I was probably 1516%.
Not the eight point 1% that the unemployment figure.
There's a lot of anxiety there's a lot of frustration people given up hope.
You have its children middle aged children moving back in with their parents serve you meant the boomers are taking care of their parents that are taking care of their children.
This is a hardship that we have not endured a long period of time and what I've found.
Lacking I still find lacking is that there has to be a case than that effective case made against that last three and a half years of Obama.
Because what they wanna do is blame on George Bush and it's the failed policies of Obama health care -- fiasco.
That over regulation.
There could -- class warfare that has been going on.
That might resonate serve but he did you -- -- the -- they worry that that somehow that's not registering at a postal.
Well I don't think it has been effectively communicated quite frankly eighty have to do it.
You know in a way that you tell a story.
And tell a story about.
A single mother that is struggling tell a story about a steel worker that is unemployed.
Tell a story about a farmer -- things changed tell a story about a person.
This is what has been lacking and also what's I think has been lacking is nowhere is this opportunity society growing the pie.
Letting people what was -- climb up the latter.
Rather than fall off -- off a cliff.
You know that the the rhetoric that the vision that the whole.
It's just not quite there yet and I hope but that it comes rather quickly house -- -- that I was gonna come at the convention started to -- but it never really resonated.
And if I don't think it's going to be sufficient just to be against Obama.
And there's a lot of energy against Obama because he's a very divisive probably the most divisive president in my lifetime.
So there's a lot of people opposed to try to win a presidential election just -- against what you have to come up for what it keeps them up in the polls.
Keeps -- -- -- in the in the polls.
It is incumbent president we go back to good Jimmy Carter's up in the polls until ten days before the route through election in -- Michael Dukakis was -- you guys is Dukakis well he was ahead of us going into our convention right there about 78.
Points right.
And then we came out of our convention about five points ahead we're in those days you -- bounces behalf and they were a little spread out.
Well it because of campaigning didn't start -- -- Went through this time you know Obama decides it's a matter of time -- the truth in your -- get catches up but the -- well.
But the truth has to be communicated effectively.
And you've got to have a very good communication strategy that is going to touch the hearts of American people.
And to say that president.
If Romney would be president he can bring people together.
He will work to do that and he is the one that that will help the the person on welfare to get off welfare he'll help the person that needs to get a better paying job.
He's the one that understands how to grow the pie and create opportunities because -- still an opportunity society we're still have more opportunities this country that anywhere in the world.
Talk about it articulate it believe it.
That's the vision that's a story that we'll get from elect -- president.
Vice president Quayle so it's a pleasure thank you very very much always glad to be here -- quell you know the face another guy meanwhile if you stimulus is coming.
