It was supposed to be a budgetary doomsday device a -- Of direct.

But now the Specter of sequestration.

A series of massive cuts to defense and other programs is looming.

As congress returns to work White House correspondent Wendell Goler on the politics behind the situation.

Days after the deadline the White House still hasn't detailed the budget cuts it will propose that there's no deficit reduction agreement by the end of the year.

Campaign -- President Obama says the deal that could force the -- the so called sequestration.

How he plans on putting this in place if he is not going to help us pass legislation preventing it in the first place so we're now waiting for that answer.

And the sequestered political impact is not lost on Mitt Romney.

It's election year and so he hasn't been willing to do -- the law even the law he signed required.

He hasn't put up those cuts he won't describe all the jobs that are going to be lost no not.
