Out west and we are on the -- -- foxnews.com.
Live a foreign policy crisis continues to unfold.
In the Middle East a foreign policy crisis.
That could well remake that region could well remake.
This presidential election right here in the United States today at this -- -- Hundreds of pros test is still surround the US embassy.
In Cairo Egypt hundreds -- have attacks in the US embassy in so not Yemen.
The US consulate in Ben Ghazi Libya lies in ruins -- Americans killed that.
That bodies are now on their way home.
To their families here in the United States to US navy destroyer is -- heading for the coast off of Libya of those destroyers.
Armed with tomahawk -- -- missiles drones are on standby.
So what are we going to do what should we do as always -- to those questions we -- -- -- national security analyst KT McFarland KT.
This.
Started -- -- in Egypt's maybe as a protest about an anti Muslim and a video -- seen -- so.
-- attacking Libya clearly planned clearly nothing to do with that if anything that was -- an excuse.
We -- crossed a line here into something very very dangerous indeed.
Yeah I think both Egyptian and the living in attacks were planned well in advance.
There with who live in one was well armed it was a sophisticated attack ejection one.
And there was well planned enough so that we got our people out of the embassy -- somebody knew in advance it was going to happen.
And it's not a coincidence I happened within a few hours of each other on the September 11 anniversary is the 1 September 11 anniversary.
Since the death of bin Laden so I think they were very intentional.
What's happening now in Yemen and potentially and other countries may be Morris.
I'm -- which is what we've always seen is that these things take a look take on a life of their that the protests over the Danish cartoons that caricature of the Prophet Mohamed.
The the protests when not Terry Jones -- Christian leader down in Florida suggested putting the current.
These things always take on a life of their own so given that given that it's probably gonna get worse before it gets better Walt do we -- -- next.
Here's of the perspective to put it and Davis said the Arab Spring -- about pricing of eighteen months ago.
Was because you're an awful lot of unemployed.
Young people in the Middle East every country was different but they -- have one thing comes 75% of the population.
And all of them is under the age of thirty and they don't have jobs.
That has gotten worse so that the people who -- protest in eighteen months ago that they didn't have jobs their economies of all gotten much worse than who's visiting the pyramids down right so there's now.
Tourist income.
So they've gone now into the streets and who are they protesting against not the dictators -- rid of those guys are now dictating Barack protesting.
Against the United States and the leaders of those countries in some cases I think in Egypt are letting them if not encouraging.
-- its way back to a protest against us.
Because the new leaders aren't about to say it was their fault they're looking around for somebody else I think -- yeah.
Isn't that exactly and then there's not always been the case the Middle -- legal problems that letter that I love that I -- thought.
And the thing is that they al-Qaeda and the extremists -- that part of the world they didn't cause the Arab Spring but they are really good -- it exploited in and I think that's what they're doing all right.
So let's look specifically at build the worst of these incidents we've seen so far.
Ben Ghazi Libya the consulate there and we've got a big Ghazi is the -- is in the eastern part of lived here it was the if you like the home of the uprising -- we had a consular of that relatively unguarded no Marines there is the as they aren't many embassies -- around the world.
This was a consular but the ambassador -- that we had a planned attack.
Four Americans killed including the ambassador.
What do we do we go warships headed that we overlook that fact and I would I -- to find somebody and take us.
Right well we might do that but what I can go to war with these countries -- remember that over the Marines aren't landing in and -- -- targeted missiles started.
I don't strike but -- but the other thing is that you know we made me start evacuating people you don't know how where this is going to be in two week's time you don't even know it's going to be 24 hours from now.
Once -- Islamic world goes to the mosques on Friday which is their whole evening as -- looked up.
By the Mollison goes back out into the -- I guess that is the nightmare scenario -- we were -- reminded of 1979.
The Tehran hostage crisis -- we headed back to do what we could be headed back there.
I easily could have been because it -- it several thousand people are -- an embassy after how many marine guards should not.
They're not going to be able to stop them that's up to the host country I think that there that the mistake was made -- -- -- Obama President Obama.
Didn't act firmly.
And didn't say publicly yesterday we can we regret and the tragic loss of life -- We are holding you responsible we're holding -- the leaders of these countries responsible you either knew about these tax and to stop them.
Well you didn't know about these attacks we want to know why you didn't know about these attacks.
And what our leverage against a wall is that we got the checkbook and none of you're gonna survive -- win win.
Are asking this question on a question of the day today should foreign aid.
Be.
Be reconsidered for Libya and Egypt -- strikes me that to some extent.
That's a knee jerk reaction it is it took to just suddenly cut off our foreign aid to these places.
-- takes away some of our includes -- strike and eat it it's probably a little extreme but it strikes me as about as useful as changing the name of French Fries to freedom.
-- -- Well look what we didn't do in Pakistan when we should have cut off aid we didn't we can we let go on though it are -- relationship Pakistan's nuclear weapons Pakistan might help us with al-Qaeda.
And yet they strung us along I don't think you cut it off but I think you go to them and say we are going to cut it off for our plan is to cut it off in less.
You protect Americans.
You -- and you get to the bottom of who did these and you clamped down on the -- -- kinds of activities that you're starting to seeing your country's right.
Might combat writing in on they -- on this we just we we just discussed what part of his question.
Where he was asking does the YouTube video have anything to do with this.
-- it did it in truth as -- and when -- that probably not really needs you hit it easy convenient excuse but he's also asking.
The government of Egypt controls all security.
And the gatherings they haven't condemned the attacks coincidence and I -- Isn't even worse not only that not condemn the attacks they've gone to their embassy in Washington has -- is there legal action that we can take against issue two cities rank.
-- -- -- So we move along we move on from that what do you.
The the second of state.
Has condemned.
Completely these attacks so there's no justification for them -- whatsoever.
President -- condemned them.
How big dumb enough -- a lot of criticism from the Romney -- and from others that they need to do more more more do you do at.
This is at this point -- a -- comparison okay Jimmy Carter pulled the rug out from under the Shah of Iran in 1978 by 1979.
The democratic revolution have been hijacked by extremists.
Present Obama pulled the rug out from under President Mubarak of Egypt and supposedly these are democratic reformers will now we've already seen that the Muslim Brotherhood.
Not a democratic group of pro.
Islamic Sharia law group has now totally in charge and Egypt he and so why should we do we should do whatever Jimmy Carter didn't do.
And that is to come down very firmly -- Iraq not tolerate us we're gonna pull our aid.
If you can't protect Americans were getting out there and hearing around you.
You and I -- a tool to law on this program about the ability of foreign policy to deliver us kind of -- October surprise and change election I guess it came a month early and as he was saying before we went -- we're not done yet I was I was trying to survive very long way.
I'm gonna tennis because well what's going to happen you know all the ingredients that were -- for the Arab Spring are all there again now but exactly who -- gonna blame their regular use the American flags burning need to months ago.
That's what you're seeing now.
Right all right KT McFarland on national security.
Analysts thank you so much great to have you -- I want you to take up court.
