You and your family are having to get by with less now than at any time in the past seventeen years.

That's a conclusion of a new survey about household income chief national correspondent Jim Angle looks inside the numbers.

-- the census bureau's annual snapshot of American society shows people struggling to live on last.

That's that's bad news when it says is that the stimulus that the government tried simply didn't work.

The census survey also found the poverty rate had not changed in any significant way from last year's rate of 15%.

That's not good news for anybody and it's especially not good.

Good news for young people because of course their job prospects are very very poor.

One analyst however argues the whole measurement of poverty is misleading because it does not count some 927.

He argues it doesn't matter who is really poor because so many under the poverty level live better -- some working Europeans.

And a third of them have a wide screen plasma TV there was an improvement in the number of people who have health care with a one point four million more now insured almost all young people nineteen to 26.

And that's basically because.

These people were brought back on to their parents' health insurance.
