Go back to spirited debate on the Sunday sixteen million Americans are expected to take a bold step to return them to church.

It's all based on an invitation from our friends family member co worker or -- neighbor and it's part of the national Baptist Church Sunday it's the largest outreach.

In the country and -- nation is the director of -- -- Christian resources he's the event organizer and he joins me now from -- with more good I didn't get after.

Hey it's great to be on with you appreciate the invitation -- look what the deal is why why does being -- to get people back to church.

Well several years ago for some of the research that we did here likely research we discovered that there is related disconnect between.

The understanding their church members have that we have a responsibility to share our faith.

With the actual activity that we're really not sharing our faith and so outreach which is a great resource company and its headquarters mountain West Coast.

They put together the initial phases all of this national -- church Sunday and just giving the right resources into the hands.

Not church leaders in church members to get him re engagement their friends and her co workers know I.

And -- The graphic we have here about -- presented to be what you're going to church -- at that at least once a week 35%.

Almost every week 12% about once a month 13% to sell them 22% -- actually really high number that's almost a quarter of the of the public.

And 15% never on holidays and 1%.

Some in -- actually refused now what you're -- disconnect.

When you asked people do you believe in god 92%.

Say yes.

That's a huge difference from the people who were going to church and actually believe in god why is that.

Well we live in a culture where compartmentalization.

Is kind of part and parcel as to who we are we we live lines where we take our religious beliefs and and we individualized them in and so it's not necessary in and in many people's minds that we do this in community with one another.

And so that's the beauty of something like this national -- church Sunday is that it's a friend asking a friend it's investing again in relationships.

To say that our -- this something that we live out together.

And it's the effective.

What Jesus is done in our lines as the effect of the gospel.

That we do this together and not just try trying to make tomorrow.

You know I talk a lot of people covered religion a lot of people will say I'm spiritual not religious they have a real disdain -- organized religion.

And say you've got to convince them there's a reason why they need to be in church because a lot of people say I don't have to be a good.

Don't -- to you Christian Muslim whatever in order -- And I don't have to -- today.

I don't have to be in the church to actually be a good person.

What do you say to them why is important for them to actually go to church.

-- little -- or whatever its us personal services.

Yeah from our perspective and certainly this is a movement among Christian churches.

And so from the perspective looking into our secret scriptures the Bible looking at the life of Jesus there is always the emphasis thank god gives up out.

The body of Christ about being a community safe to -- the Stanley -- not.

And so when we isolate ourselves from missing out on part of the beauty.

Of the reduced net we -- offered by god as to what he's doing in our lives and so for those who say well.

I'm spiritual but I'm not religious and -- you know come with me and and let me show you use that maybe you've seen it.

Differently than I -- out that there really isn't UD being part of an organized army of believers that we call the church.

Capital is so how did you find out more about this fact that your son David -- -- have a website that actually tells them where they can go.

Oh absolutely and and it's just that simple just go to back to church dot com.

And there are church leaders -- all sorts of resources and its allies looking for -- church that is participating.

Actually our roster we have nearly thirteen thousand churches nationwide that are participating this year.

And so they can find a church and -- area that is participating in this -- and all sorts of resources that church members and church leaders.

Can access to help them along the way in reaching out to friends and family members and coworkers.

And visit.

Very -- denomination or one particular denomination.

Now we've seen -- churches from across the spectrum nondenominational.

Churches all the way access and other denominations that we would consider to be mainline and older denominations.

And -- even produced three sources that would help denominational leaders that they -- looking to get involved as well.

And so they're buying all sorts of churches that are in case in this and national Baxter sunny this weekend.

And -- -- of this act local people and then he's not just -- meant for one day.

-- exactly right we hope that that churches are watching Q Bible study and discussion groups out of the -- -- -- clincher Sunday.

Because is not just about this one time in -- how can we packed.

Using as many was we can't hear all this one day.

What can we do to connect people in relationship to one another so that we can both talk about the gospel and display the effects of it that's and -- our own lives long term.

I want to thank you very much donation with BM.

Lights five researched and dad.

Talking about what they were Christian resource is talking about back to your Sunday which is this Sunday September 16 thank you very much based -- every day -- attempt.
