And US embassies and consulates have opened up a debate on US foreign policy.

Some critics accuse the Obama administration is sending the wrong message to allies and enemies alike around the globe.

Former State Department official Liz Cheney wrote in an editorial in the Wall Street Journal that.

Well I think you know Israel you just talked about the extent to which.

The entire world is facing a threat because -- Ronnie and attempts to develop -- nuclear weapon.

The Israelis are facing an existential threat.

And when the president of the United States has reportedly offered to host a meeting with the Muslim Brotherhood president of Egypt who.

At a minimum looked the other way as our consulate as our embassy was attacked in Cairo.

And refuses to give a meeting to prime minister Netanyahu.

You can tell that this is an administration that -- at best has it's priorities confused.

You can look around the globe we're not reliable ally to any of those Arab nations frankly who are very.

Concern intact but the saudis the emirates very concerned about Iran's nuclear weapon.

I would say it's hard to think of a single country where in fact.

And you're viewed as more reliable than we were before President Obama took office.

What about the other side of your statement and it were not an enemy to be feared any longer and and those that support the president say will we came and we didn't have a positive image around the world.

There were those who refer to our president -- a cowboy and and somebody who that you would -- -- -- handle and wanted to start wars I mean that was the criticism of this administration coming and if they would change that so is it a positive for us to be feared is that something we should aspire tip well I think that you know part of being feared is being respected.

The world is clearly a safer place we -- more secure when the United States is ascendant when people recognize that our word mean something.

This president came into office and he laid it out very clearly to that 2009.

You know he laid it out in comments that he made.

-- you mention this morning comments that he made in November.

Before I was elected -- essentially you know when I take office everybody around the world particularly in the Muslim world.

Will you definitely want to have a better relationship with the US will have a better relationship.

President is not -- the president and believes that -- nation should be ascendant should stand about any other.

And what we're seeing now when you turn on the television and you -- images in these scenes of violence is what happens when.

You know that terrorists believe they can attack our embassy with impunity they believe that they can kill our ambassador.

And there will be no.

In response no meaningful response the United States it makes it much more dangerous for us and for our allies.

And -- elaborate on something you touched on there about the US not being more -- and other countries in your editorial you talked about the speech the president gave back in 2009 when he talked about the fact that.

We shouldn't be elevated when it's certain countries -- that elevated above others -- what causes the trouble.

-- -- is there a place what is the proper role for the US should we want to be.

-- more wanted more steamed and other countries well I think that the United States has now.

For many many years for decades.

In the greatest force for good frankly the world -- ever known and US leadership that we were able to win the Cold War that we were able to defeat the Soviet Union it is because of strong US leadership.

That we were able frankly after 9/11 to ensure that there were no further attacks.

US leadership in the world is not just something to be desired but it's necessary.

This president has put us on a path to decline and he really believes if you look at his policy for example with respect our nuclear arsenal.

That the way that -- need to approach.

Arms control is to have the United States make preemptive unilateral cuts.

It is a fallacy that somehow America as the problem not our enemies and that some -- make America weaker in the world will be more peaceful.

And I can't imagine a more dangerous set of beliefs -- philosophies to have in the Oval Office at a time that -- clearly facing a resurgent al-Qaeda -- resurgent Taliban in Afghanistan.

Grave threats to the nation and this president seems to be a -- best out very quickly when asked you about a relationship with Russia which and they can act.

Well again I think people remember the president being caught you know when he didn't know that the Mike was on promising greater flexibility after the election.

It's very -- you remember what he was promising that flexibility about and it was about missile defense.

Now when you've got the Ronnie -- about you know on the verge apparently of nuclear capability.

The notion that the president is gonna be flexible with the -- in the defensive systems we use to protect ourselves and our allies pretty pollen.

So I think we you know you've got a thuggish regime there regime that doesn't share our views -- regime that at every step of the way -- blocked what we -- to accomplish in the United Nations and the American president says hey don't worry after the election basically I'll do what you want.
