Let's talk some politics now -- with fifty days ago it's back to the economy in the presidential race.

Governor Romney set to -- a series of speeches on that.

A release a batch of new TV ads today explaining how a president Romney would turn America around look at us.

Champions small -- Tax policies and regulations and health care policies could help small business we put those in place will have twelve million new jobs in four years.

Right let's talk to Stephen -- about that he's a senior economic writer for the Wall Street Journal.

Good morning Stephen just a little snippet there -- what are we need to hear from Mitt Romney what is he gonna say.

Well I think a lot of conservatives -- Republicans around the country are saying it's about time you -- If you listen to the speech that Mitt Romney gave it the Republican Convention it was long profile but it didn't have a lot of what the president wanted to do to turn around the economy and I think that was a weakness of the speech and I think it's one of the reasons that that Mitt Romney's numbers haven't been very good lately so he needs to basically.

Tell the American people look I do you have a plan that is very -- -- and he's got to go through how it's gonna work that tax.

Reach that tax restructuring plan that energy policies.

Deregulation of industries and of course bringing the deficit that -- Those are things that he hasn't been talking enough about -- and I got I think that's one of the reasons he's not doing that well in the polls now.

Stephen you've been following the economy and politics for a long time what specifically.

Do you expect him to add to his speeches and in these campaign ads.

You know.

What did -- -- -- -- -- the story line that Barack Obama is used very effectively over the last couple months is -- about a -- I -- the candidate of the middle class.

And I think what if Iran is gonna win this we're case he has a basic is that first of all.

Barack Obama is that the -- the middle class the middle class lost 4000 dollars of income Wally spent president second of all he has stats say look.

My tax restructuring -- Up more pro development.

Energy policy deregulating get small businesses back and act.

Well he's -- goes down into those details to make a lot of Republicans and independents happy.

This is a big choice we have okay let's look at some statistics that we have here despite more than forty months of unemployment higher than 8%.

The president is still pretty favorable when it comes to the economy among a lot of voters.

This poll -- that likely to improve the economy the president beats out Mitt Romney Heidi explain that.

Boy that's hard to explain I think you can only explain by the fact that -- Obama's done a very good job -- basically saying I've done about psyche out.

One of the things that Mitt Romney has to basically says wait a minute this is the president.

Who told us three and a half years ago that by -- fix things if the economy wasn't batter that I'd be a one term president.

Now what Barack Obama sang as well this is the best we could deal.

Well I didn't know we already tried that message he did I don't know what I have to get mansion and that didn't seem to have -- many ground.

Well I think he has to keep pounding -- passage that -- look.

One of the things he can do is just quote from what Ben Bernanke -- on Thursday Ben Bernanke gave a very dire assessment of the economy before he basically said we you know we have to have QE3.

I bet you haven't.

-- I don't and the jobs who scene of the economy and a lot of folks won't be paying attention to details.

About -- that green -- -- stuff they came out -- last week except that.

Heather the American people know that there's something fundamentally wrong with it out of the other thing he asked to do by the way this is connect the dots between.

The enormous -- and go out government expansion over the last four years and how that really imperiled America's future and is putting us in a potential death spiral that looks very much like Europe I don't think the -- that that the Romney campaign has gotten done a good enough job yet connecting those dots the American people so that really see.

That why this puts there -- their financial future in great jeopardy.

And we're pretty hear more from Paul Ryan in the near future about that that finally one last thing -- coming out that says and this is really interesting that more Americans polled.

Trust President Obama on the issue of taxes than they do Mitt Romney.

And it looks like there -- some trouble there.

Why that is a catastrophe and again it shows that -- Barack Obama has gotten his message out better than Iran he has Barack Obama keeps hitting.

Well Romney over the -- saying this is just a tax cut for the -- one of the things that Iran has to explain to people is look if you're a middle class family you're gonna get a big tax cut under my plan he hasn't done that in fact Obama says you're that -- -- raise taxes on the middle class.

All right Stephen Moore from the Wall Street Journal thank you so much and we'll be following.

Exactly what comes out of this -- had.
