-- there -- -- now on the story the White House over the events in Libya for people including one of our leading ambassadors Cris Stevens.
Killed there last week after attack and then Gaza.
Now so far the White House has caught -- spontaneous event on nine elevenths.
As of yesterday it appears open to the results of an investigation that has not yet complete.
-- -- provide information about what we.
Believe.
Was the precipitating.
Cause of the protests and violence.
Based on information that we.
Have had to bail.
There is an ongoing investigation the FBI.
Is investigating.
And that investigation will follow the facts wherever they -- -- KT McFarland now.
Social Security analyst Steven Hayes senior writer for the weekly standard.
Fox's contributor good to have you both back on -- -- again today what -- you know we did this on Monday it was quite revealing through all of your comments then KT.
Is -- a crack in the story know what we're saying.
Now they're sure as -- and why are they doing and I think they're haunted by the image of Jimmy Carter losing the presidential election and 1980.
Because of hostages in the Middle East and you know the situations very similar today.
The economy is lousy high oil prices crisis in and at least and so they don't want to be compared about.
I also think that they're sticking to this kind of -- -- story that it was spontaneous.
And that it was all because of a dumb movie because -- absolves them of responsibility -- so well I think are going to be more incidents going forward and can mansion where we would be today if instead of -- fascinating -- -- diplomats it turns out that are there with an al-Qaeda hostage taking event.
Where you have four American diplomats on their knees blindfolded.
Witten -- a -- -- tar yielding.
-- in terrorist standing behind them we would have a very different conversation today and I think that's what the administration politically -- -- about Steve what about this is -- were crack in the story.
Yeah I think there is a bill we talked about this on Monday as you as you point out.
Remember when you go back and you look at how the administration has talked publicly about previous attacks or attempted attacks.
This is the pattern you see from the administration an effort to get out from -- -- -- -- to downplay it almost immediately this happened both.
With -- Christmas bomber of the Christmas Day bomber in Detroit where they said he was an isolated extremist.
This happened after that the New York Times square bombing attempt.
Where they said this was a one off attempt this is the way the administration handles these efforts to get out front -- -- -- dismissed the significance of it.
And they've been making an argument -- political argument now for several months and most heavily I would say at the Democratic Convention.
Al-Qaeda had been an -- defeated that that the demise of Osama bin Laden.
Meant the demise of al-Qaeda the group and this suggests given the Baghdad ties to al-Qaeda groups and al-Qaeda like.
Sympathizers that may be maybe they were premature in making -- -- what you're making the argument that the White House reasoning cannot be sustained.
I think anybody -- out.
Well look I think it can't I mean look we we personally had people from the administration the day after the attacks on September 12 briefing reporters and telling them.
That it appeared to be pre planned and and and premeditated so that's a problem for them secondly you have the House Intelligence Committee chairman Mike Rogers who has been saying.
Consistently all along that these attacks were.
Had the hallmarks of al-Qaeda type attacks and were pre plan.
Premeditated Mike Rogers is not somebody who's a partisan hack is somebody takes -- job very seriously.
He's often sided with the administration on on different points particularly with respect to Libya.
He is not somebody's going to be out there making political arguments if he says that that there are indications the attacks.
We're pre plan then there indications that the attacks were aluminum -- comeback in this conversation out of can continue.
You know the one thing that really is very talent why -- that the United Nations ambassador on Sunday who's going from talk show to talk show saying it was spontaneous.
That it was just the movie why.
She doesn't have any responsibility for American who receives or intelligence or military secretary of state does she wasn't on the talk shows why don't carry it I don't think they want of -- I think they know.
But it's -- false story it's going to look like George Bush saying mission accomplished.
And the secretary of state is too Smart politically.
To have those words come out of her mouth breathing and secretary of defense and we have a fair way today's briefing the White House should be introducing yet again meet you thank you Stephen Hayes thanks to you as well.
