About calling the scale of the dueling tapes were getting some new reaction now from the Romney camp.

After the governor's comments -- a private fund raiser were leaked to the media but now -- recording from president Obama's past is also getting some attention.

The then state lawmaker in this video talks about spreading the wealth.

We structure a government systems that.

Pulled resources.

And hence facilitate some redistribution because I actually believe in redistribution.

At least at a certain level to make sure that.

Everybody's got shot.

Raise a lot of philosophical.

Questions about the differences in this campaign chief political correspondent Carl Cameron.

Riding the bus with the Romney campaign.

And he is live from Dallas on the way to the airport this morning when -- -- has all this up playing out.

Well for for Republicans -- they succeed this really is something of a rhetorical gold mine opportunity.

When you listen to what the president said back when he was a state senator in Illinois in 1998.

-- -- structure government pool resources and redistribute wealth.

That to Republicans.

Is proof of what they've been alleging before this is the Obama administration started.

In effect.

The president is trying to.

Completely re trigger the economic situation in his words to sort of -- of level the playing field and give everybody a shot.

In Mitt Romney's words bad idea not the right course for America listen.

This idea that the president has -- a redistributing I know there are some people in our country who want it.

I have I have a government take from some to give to the others they'd like to be the others that are on the receiving end of that and add.

And feel that they re distribution model makes sense the president some years ago said he favors redistribution.

I don't.

Republic Republicans see this as much more than just an answer to the five month old Romney video in which talks about the 47% of Obama's support and what Democrats say is a very generous view.

They see this really is the definition of the final seven weeks of this election campaign.

From mr.

Romney today -- USA today op Ed.

Going further on this and from the Republican Party the campaign and from the GOP right in general just a blizzard of emails and news releases buzz on the Internet.

The Republican right using this they hope.

To pin down Barack Obama and close out the race making the argument as many Republicans have in -- -- the Republican National Committee voted one would hope President Obama was first inaugurated.

That his policies border on a socialist European economy.

That's what they're argument has been it's even been in part of the Republican party's votes now they've got from -- -- then senator and state senator Barack Obama talking about a fourteen years ago Martha.

-- and -- that the question is is this one of those moments in a campaign and that we will look back on and a lot of conservatives are saying that there's an opportunity here for the -- campaign.

To sort of turn a corner how does all this play out -- from where you are.

-- -- it's is probably too early to tell based upon polls but the a lot of the commentary a lot of the punditry about dispirited republicanism.

Is the kind of stuff has plagued Mitt Romney says his campaign began a year and a half ago and yet we find him now.

According to virtually all the national polls and many of the battleground polls in a virtual tie.

Both the associated press and its new -- And the Gallup tracking poll today show that it's a one point contest across the country.

Gallup also has a series of battleground state polls which according to Gallup suggests that's the key battleground states twelve -- all.

Are all also basically within the margin but here's the most important thing Martha.

The Gallup poll says that -- Mitt Romney's support is about 39% solid.

Barack Obama's support is about 38% solid people aren't likely to change their minds.

But the number that is really want to watch 22%.

According to Gallup poll could still change their minds or are undecided.

With seven weeks left before the election to have one out of five voters still possibly changing their minds suggest that this race is every bit as fluid as it was months ago.

And at the last seven weeks are going to be a trench war.

Over these almost bumper sticker videos with Democrats say Mitt Romney's out of touch Republicans say Barack Obama.

Is has got to approach that would essentially undo the American idea of liberty and the pursuit of happiness to -- distribute the wealth let them.

Well -- asked -- -- -- from where you are and from where you are is changing moment by moment as we can see apple went out.

Thank you think much is.
