There's new fallout from a fiery debate in a very close senate race that could change the balance of power in congress.
Massachusetts Republican senator Scott Brown facing his challenger Democrat Elizabeth Warren.
It got heated right off the back Warren facing criticism for her claims of a native American Heritage.
Molly Line is live in Boston with some of the highlights for -- Hi John that's exactly right this is a very feisty debate between the incumbent senator Scott Brown the Republican.
And his democratic challenger Harvard professor Elizabeth Warren and as you mentioned.
It got confrontational right from the beginning when the moderator asked.
About character in this race was -- -- issues Scott Brown -- after Elizabeth Warren and her claims of native American Heritage.
Asking for evidence that it did not advance her academic career.
Character is important as you know I think what you're referring to was effective professor Warren claim that she.
Was a native American a person of color as you can see she's not.
That being said she checked the box.
When I was growing up these -- the stories I knew about my heritage.
And I believed my mother and my father and my aunts and my uncles and I never asked anybody for any documentation I don't know any kid who did.

But Massachusetts is a true blue state dominated by Democrats and he's pitted against Morton with some strong ties to the current Obama administration.
Yeah -- was even given a prime time speaking role during a recent Democratic Convention.
Still this is a neck and neck graced the polls have been very close -- earlier polls this week showed -- up by a small margin.
And the latest poll released yesterday by the Boston Herald and UMass Lowell showed that brown was up by six points in -- super tight race and one to watch John.
