And he's in -- sort of fiscal cliff so what lawmakers do today.

-- -- -- High tailing it out of town until after the elections the house for -- the senate acts but you know what's even more jarring than that.

That's a report saying that senior Republicans plan to retreat on taxes should the president win a second term Oklahoma congressman Tom -- quoted as saying.

If the president wins reelection taxes are going up there's not a lot we can do about that.

Congressman Cole will be joining us on Monday to Mike Huckabee who joins us today what do you think of that though.

I guess so arguable people -- and -- they spoken -- there's so out of this.

I think a lot of it depends on what happens in the senate because if the Republicans get the senate then I don't think taxes have to go up.

-- you have both houses of congress.

If the Democrats hold the senate there probably is gonna have to be some compromise are nothing will happen we will go off the fiscal cliff.

And that there won't be returned from that end and then everybody gets hurt far worse far worse than any tax increase could ever be.

Now I always think that maybe this is -- -- a -- jazz in the -- get Republicans.

On board saying this is what we risk if this happens -- -- being too clever words.

-- you're always clever that's the one thing that we know -- you.

Was competitive but in this case I I think they're just speaking Tom -- I'm not a long time he's a good guy don't think he's just making stuff up.

I think he's speaking from a pragmatic standpoint the -- that's -- -- -- that elections have consequences that's this is what you got it exactly if if Obama's reelected.

And the Republicans don't have the senate so that means the Democrats have two out of three parts of -- anything through.

If the Republicans.

Want to be able to do anything to preserve.

Some sanity in the budget process they may have to give up something to get.

-- thing that's just the way politics works now I'm not suggesting that's had a good thing.

But the alternative to go off the fiscal cliff that we're headed on because of the tax -- that we talked about so much.

That's devastating.

To every American family and to the long term American economy -- the debt and the deficit.

You know there is an argument suit the president gets reelected let's say the -- Democrats.

Hold on -- the senate.

That it could be -- long.

And dark for years Republicans and that.

The big government -- -- some decided that they attacked the president for creating and creating more voters field and doing it's going to be hard to break sort of like an FDR lock that won't go anytime soon.

It'll take a long time and I think one of the big worries people need to be thinking about -- who might be appointed to the Supreme Court should there be a vacancy.

This is where it takes generations to undo the damage.

And if thought if it were one of the conservative justices and and that person is replaced by an Obama appointee.

Then we have some real issues that can be fixed in four or six or eight years we were talking about again generations to come that's dangerous.

But I do think that.

Republicans have to understand there's a lot at stake here but not just Republicans but they're.

They're they're they're shooting at each other and and John McCain -- just -- governor saying that's got to stop.

Because it's not doing anyone any good particularly the Republican nominee he extended it to economists like pay intimately and it.

You expect to columnist to become honest they're they're paid to give an honest assessment what they say I think that if they become homers.

For the team that they actually like and they start just everything we do is write everything they do is wrong I think that -- -- that Bill Kristol and others have done the same to detect.

Romney but a bit too prematurely thinker and are -- well I again I think they have to be honest with their assessment their feelings but.

They are those who are -- for Romney an elected officials in the Republican Party.

I think they have to rally around the candidate that I agree with John McCain about but he got going on the -- Well we've got to me a lot from -- -- -- there we also have a discussion with the congressman Michael Burgess and I have medical doctor from Dallas.

Fascinating insight into what we ought to be doing instead of obamacare and it's written as is from a doctor's perspective.

You know we never listen to doctors about obamacare we also have an exclusive with Justin Bieber -- -- -- really fascinating story her life is.

Quite amazing.

I'm sure you wanna find out about it because on your big just in Missouri I hear that music coming out here I am on my hair is amazing -- -- says Psycho yeah.

-- -- Our governor always good seeing you -- right.

In the meantime a labor dispute over -- American --
