Major American University has some students thinking that yeah that might not be a bad idea.
Let's just -- and joins us live now from Atlanta with more on that story Elizabeth.
Hi had an almost every year universities that then they issue -- -- not based allow students to carry concealed weapons on campus.
The issue is very much heating up here in the state of Georgia on Georgia Tech's campus where students rally this week.
Many of them telling us that they feel unsafe on campus after years of violent robberies and attacks on campus streets.
One student even woke up in his dorm in July with a gun pointed to his head although perpetrators left him unharmed he was dropped after the incident.
Students for concealed -- is -- national organization which advocates concealed weapons on campuses it was organized the day after the Virginia Tech mass shooting back in 2007.
The group has about 40000 student members and -- active on more than -- 130 campuses.
Across the nation Robert eager represent the group here in Georgia attacked he says they're working to educate the public and push for lob biding citizens including -- students and faculty.

Conceal weapons holders are significantly less likely to be arrested or convicted of crimes than their -- population.
