Right now -- rolling tribute across the country to fallen veterans and their families twelve former Marines.

Embarking on a 3200.

Mile bike ride from California all the way to New York City.

There about two days into this trip it's called the -- your ride the group is raising money for a couple of organizations that support service members and their families.

Including giving scholarships to the children of deceased war injured -- war heroes.

On the phone with us right now captain David -- a former US marine captain the organizer of the warrior ride a guy who has a couple of purple hearts himself.

-- David how are you -- and two days into this thing.

We're doing pretty well sir were actually about a hundred miles outside Flagstaff Arizona right now.

Heading -- -- any point today which is going to be just outside of Durango Colorado -- I'm very pretty motivated he's doing well.

Eight days to do 3200.

Miles do I have that right.

You do -- you do we've got twelve writers and -- support crew including.

One of our medics that we actually served in Fallujah with -- or early who is it's just been on an unbelievable guy.

And so we've got a great team in we're breaking down a -- and to get it done together.

He started this thing a few years ago I know writing from the Iwo jima memorial in Virginia.

All the way to ground zero in New York City that's a couple hundred miles.

What made you decide to take this thing cross country.

You know the challenge of it really we been talking about just step it up and and -- we -- we can do it and you know I served a lot of these guys that are with me here today and it's great -- but it is gather.

And be able to honor our buddies -- -- came home and trying to help take care of their families that are still here.

I was honored last year ride with you the last twenty miles or -- of your trip.

All the way to you from your well across the George Washington Bridge to ground zero but.

I know there's an awful lot of emotion that that you guys are up and able bodied and still able to do something like this when you have lost.

So many of your friends and your and your buddies.

Absolutely.

They're certainly.

A huge emotional -- this were thinking about.

You know we're gonna climb yesterday -- -- don't.

But being two up in a plaque that -- about just over 3000 feet elevation it and it was.

You know -- o'clock at night we were changing guys out and support vehicle right aren't -- and you know a lot that went through my mind was just thinking about my buddies me and my dad like -- does that got them back Travis mangan.
