Well she came from humble beginnings and -- -- just became an international model who made her way to Hollywood.

Alana Stewart had two high profile marriages.

To actor George Hamilton and rock legend Rod Stewart she says there -- plenty of heart ache and pain underneath all of the glamour.

Let's go through it what -- Stewart what was it like to be married to rod Stewart's.

Well in the beginning it was an incredible romantic fantasy and we had an amazing relationship and marriage and suddenly we had two little children and I had my third son from my marriage with George and you know things slowly start to change you know and that's I talk about the -- and in the book you know I talk about my marriage and because obviously was an important part of my life and I fell apart emotionally and physically when it broke -- it was a very difficult time for me in the end.

And then you met George Hamilton.

Well actually it was the other way around I met George when I was very young when I had just come from Texas and was modeling in new York and I always say I was very lucky because he was really terrific guy van and he still is a terrific guy now I -- a matter real -- -- That is young and not me even -- you're still good friends now we're very good friends yes.

I went to Acapulco to do modeling job when I first started modeling I was walking along the speech and I saw this figure come toward me and it was George Hamilton innings walking along in a bathing -- any of the sun reflector tucked under his arm he walked right by me I talk about in the -- and didn't even look at -- didn't glam aside what hate this that's and I that in just -- -- -- gorgeous thing I'd ever -- little that I ever imagine.

So loudly is gorgeous I -- about your life in in Hollywood -- what it's been like for you because you.

Came from very meager beginnings very meager beginning -- -- life.

Well I lived out in the country with my grandmother on a dirt road and we have an outhouse and there were weeks that we would live on potato soup when we didn't have any food.

And I learned.

From my grandmother I learned these real deep core -- his values and she was a woman of faith and she had a great belief in god.

And I think that that period of time up until I was nine years ago is probably what got through Mason.

And got me through some very difficult challenges in my life.

And in fact that you I think would describe yourself as right of center.

Politically yes definitely I'm I'm in the right place -- and who -- conservative yes I had so what does that didn't like to be in Hollywood project leader in this whole election cycle.

-- the interesting thing and I was telling.

Someone that you know when it -- many friends most of my friends are liberals and they -- to talk all the time with our past President Bush and he was constantly being -- and now they don't talk politics nearly so much.

And I think it's because you know maybe they're a little disappointed and and President Obama and end up.

I'm certainly disappointed you know and I keep hearing all these promises of you know he needs four more years and while I say let's let's finish off the last 41.

And growing up war.

And how you had to have sort of up by your bootstraps mentality and to survive everything you've gone through I assume that has informed your.

Political view well.

Really I mean I used to look at people who had money when we were very -- and I never felt like.

Entitled to what they had -- they should give me some of their money gave -- -- work ethic I mean it really made me wanna go out and work and and -- Do something make something of myself and my grandmother had so much price she would never take.

-- fair and she wouldn't even take credit if the local grocery store which was three miles away by the -- Well blustery talk all about it in your memoir rearview mirror -- she.
