From voter ID lost to health care law and fight over -- -- from immigration -- to the new financial regulations the Obama administration has been doing battle with states across the country.

Joining us now to state attorney general who find themselves in the middle of these legal showdowns.

From Oklahoma Scott Pruitt and from South Carolina Allen -- -- and welcome.

Well thank you thank you Janet -- general Wilson and let's start with you let's talk about south Carolina's voter ID -- Requires various forms of photo right -- for those who were gonna show up and vote it's been argued before a panel federal judges now.

Do you think it survives.

Well first off we always knew this is going to be an uphill battle just because you look at -- you're fighting but South Carolina has gone to great links.

Over the last several years to craft a law that protects the integrity of the ballot box while ensuring.

The individual right to vote is not touched and that it remain sacred and South Carolina stands by law we believe we have a good law and we are guardedly optimistic that to we will prevail but you just never know in these types of cases.

And from what I understand that they're basically -- pass this year if if the law is upheld an implemented.

People can argue that they have a reasonable and -- -- -- a reason they couldn't get a photo ID in time for the election.

And from what I understand they're allowed to cast a provisional ballot that can be contested at some point so it wouldn't stop someone from voting if they've got a good excuse.

Well first off no one will be allowed cardinal will be prevented from voting.

Once this law works go into effect says it will be just as it as it was before the law goes into effect just like you said we'll have a reasonable impediment.

Provision that allows people to vote should they not have a photo ID and they can still use their voter registration card with a photo attached to it.

Are the voter ID fight is -- -- that involving several states at this point out what -- -- -- transition over to a general -- it in Oklahoma -- you -- only state as I understand that has now an active ongoing case against the president's health care law you've got concerns with how would be implemented.

We began the litigation.

And it it was state eventually by the federal court judge here in Oklahoma while the Supreme Court dealt with the issue at the US Supreme Court level.

When the decision came down in -- we begin -- -- waiting.

That decision and their two primary responsibilities that states have under the health care -- -- -- to decide whether Medicaid should be expanded in the respective states.

We've already seen that the federal government tried to exert more power there that most of what was granted.

And the court by seventy votes that they could not intimidate or course the states to adopt -- expand Medicaid.

But the other important -- -- -- part of the health care -- expansion.

Or the use of helter exchanges and there about twenty states as you know Shannon across the country.

They've chosen not to implement a state exchange.

In those states.

There are questions about this IRS rule that was adopted may eighteenth the RS has -- -- -- that -- -- assess an employer mandate penalty.

In states whether -- they've -- -- exchange or not we believe that's inconsistent with the Affordable Care Act.

And consequently we amended our complaint here in Oklahoma to challenge the -- rule that was adopted -- -- All right we're not talking about a case now that both of your states are involved with general -- -- start with you this have to deal with the Dodd-Frank legislation that was passed recently deals with regulating Wall Street and financial entities and organizations.

You are worried among other things about the fact that it would call for liquidation of certain financial -- -- -- general probe what is your concern there.

We're entitled to under the -- the Dodd-Frank law about elation and both Dodd-Frank in the Affordable Care Act represented.

An attitude has been permanent and -- Washington the last two years since an attitude that Washington knows best they tried to -- the health care.

Well it it would general Pruitt said this is not about it ensuring we're protecting the financial industry from another 2008 crisis.
