Welcome back everybody Cal Thomas retired he had tears just this Jonathan -- -- -- here doesn't mean we're not gonna do good -- bash today -- crying because I'm overwhelmed by your presence -- okay my second app for that one did.

Tell you usually see you on Skype it's great to have you -- your honor I really enjoy listening to you especially on this topic -- watched news watch now at 3 PM.

-- -- Saturday I got a whole hour now ever since that election that's right.

But more than that as well yeah -- -- good in depth look how the media handling the debates.

It.

It's consented to question of how it will be outlets in media outlets and frame the debate what does that mean.

Well it.

Basically they treated as a horse race which I think is detrimental to the public's understanding of what the real issues are who's up.

Who's down.

Who committed a -- who had the best sound -- none of that produces any jobs none of -- produces a stronger.

National defense none of it affects anybody's individual lives it is a celebrity.

Approach it's like who's married to whom.

Who's getting divorced who's living together who's having babies -- housekeeper I mean all of this stuff.

Does it really matter in the day to day existence of what that most Americans but that's what the media focus on because we're in -- celebrity culture guilty.

I watched the Arnold Schwarzenegger tell -- how did you.

Of course should we have want to know not be in this is like saying had everything going on in the world that's yeah wildlife harmed or having other noticing a five car -- -- -- -- don't look at that.

I mean that's you know I don't know I don't.

I -- well Arnold's five car pileup -- some.

They did but sure obviously the media always appealed to the lower nature this is why the reality shows sell so well some of his daytime.

Televisions -- but I'm -- I'm not opposed to the entire model began in 1960 continues pretty much.

The same as it was I'd like -- there's no reason why the media get to select.

Their -- to question the candidates I'd like to see a panel for example I'd like to see a Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity questioning the president.

And OK -- Rachel madcow asking questions or Romney I think that would be far more interesting you elevate -- They are warm but -- I think I doubt we've -- saying I mean even to do that online would be brilliant suggestion tremendous.

But do you think that we will -- slams.

And the questions asked at these debates based on the media personalities that are conducting.

Sure I think Republicans conservatives always have to defend themselves against charges that they don't like women.

That they are races that their biggest their anti gay they care only for the rich I mean you know you can recite these it's worked very well for Democrats.

-- since the Franklin Roosevelt administration the Republicans don't hear anybody except people if they have the country club.

That's not true Republicans conservatives -- -- make the port on -- they don't wanna send him a check to sustain them and their poverty but you'll ever -- questions.

Addressed.

Two for example the president.

Mr.

President how -- we continue to exist on a sixteen trillion dollar debt most of the borrow from China.

You don't think that question I don't think it'll come up like that have been one of the first quite well since I went out that while you're not on the panel because -- exact.

Would you would ask the president to be held accountable for the promises.

-- -- curious if it keeps him up well night as he keeps many good American pride.

Apparently not but look at the other question is sure for a governor Romney -- you have said -- your debates with Ted Kennedy when you're running.

Against him for the senate.

That you were firmly and with conviction a pro choice -- and you -- for same sex marriage and all of us on -- stuff.

Now most people are allowed one conversion be -- religious or otherwise in their lives so governor.

Did you go through conversion experience and we'd like to know the details why are you now pro life.

And just to say that.

Well.

The flimsy excuse that he gave -- some relative of his.

You know had a baby a difficult circumstances that's not sufficient.

Because you said previously it was a matter of deep personal conviction.

So those are the kinds of challenging questions that ought to be asked.

But I suggest you get more challenging questions to governor Romney that you will the President Obama or there won't be a follow up he'll be allowed to get away with -- as usual.

You know stream of.

Consciousness you give us a perspective that will help us watch the debates in a different way and then we'll watch news watch on Saturday at 3 PM.

With our good buddy Jon Scott -- Cal Thomas a regular and other superstars up on the panel I can't wait to hear your thoughts after the debate thanks for coming thank you.
