President Obama and Democrats continue to criticize governor Mitt Romney's statement that the country's becoming an entitlement society and yet.

-- look at this -- Fox News poll finds that 63%.

Of likely voters think.

He's right that many Americans are too dependent on government.

And it's similar Gallup poll right after the Democratic Convention found nearly two thirds of independents.

Think government is trying to do too many things that should be left to individuals and businesses is there a disconnect between the president.

And independent voters joining us now to talk about a Brentwood house.

He's the communications director for the Democratic National Committee Sean Spicer.

Media communications director for the Republican National Committee good to see both Brad let me start -- here.

That -- Democrats.

Were polled on this.

64%.

Will put it on the screen 64%.

Said the government should do more.

Not less.

Isn't the president and his party out of sync with the majority of Americans and two thirds of independents who believe the opposite.

Well no not at not at all and in fact this question doesn't get the heart.

Of what Mitt Romney said we Mitt Romney.

Just -- rode off half the country saying that they were dependent victims he won't talk about good government programs -- -- talking about people.

He wrote off 50% of people so this that really get to the heart.

Of what what Mitt Romney said now the polls showed that what Mitt Romney said has been disapproved if you just play -- remarks for voters.

Disapprove two to one.

By you know by voters -- that's what we've been talking about is.

Is what he is what he said what he said was -- half the country wasn't worthy of his time or attention in this presidential election.

Sean let me go to -- earlier this month they CNN poll found that governor Romney leads President Obama among likely independent voters.

By a substantial fourteen points.

54%.

-- -- this to 40%.

And he also leads among independents in critical swing states like Ohio and Florida and -- US news and world report points out there's been almost no mention of it in the media wonder why.

Well I think what you're -- with what you see are starting to see is it.

Independents are largely part of the 60% of Americans that think that this country's off on the wrong track.

And right now that they are giving a stark contrast to what this election presents in terms of more.

Government -- a cop -- you know world country or a free enterprise.

System that -- governor Romney offers.

One that that rewards innovation entrepreneurship but -- the bigger thing he also see in the numbers is.

In eight of twelve battleground states the Democrats have really lost a lot of their voter registration and when you look at those battleground states.

In 2008 President Obama won a state like Wisconsin by fourteen points Nevada my thirteen New Hampshire and Iowa by ten respectively Colorado by nine.

And now those all those battleground states are dead even and I think a lot of that is attributed to the independent saying that they're ready to come home that -- -- starting to pay attention -- this race.

And they're ready for I -- a clear choice and -- go with governor Romney because they are your enemies Conrad Brett.

Let me let me move on to another poll of Bloomberg poll -- found one in five voters are what they call persuade -- -- And more of them lean toward governor Romney look at that 41% of those persuade a bulls say.

Romney is laid out a better economic vision compared to 25%.

Saying the president have.

He is the president in danger of losing to persuade a bulls -- you know those folks may dictate the election.

Well look out -- if you won't find this surprising battle thanks and you know Sean is got some wishful thinking here first of all there are -- Wisconsin's not tied these races are not tied the president has.

Oh lead in the battleground in the battleground states and -- irrespective of of what one hole in my idol among independents is is the well we -- -- today.

Greg.

It rotten that Romney's not gonna just be voted on by independence I mean -- you know -- sometimes maker break 888 or well they may.

They mayor that they may -- that they may or they may not but one hole.

On independence is is not is not the final word on generally they -- number one in five voters so I mean that's that's a well thought out and hurt you have a Greg Greg -- CNN poll taken three weeks ago is not.

What is not going to be this positive as to how the outcome of this election and that's why put there is out Paul to make sure it wasn't just -- the whole outlook.

Greg they're not Greg there's not the only one -- -- there's not one battleground state.

Where the president doesn't have a lead including Northrop on it when I'm doing -- -- -- not breaking it.

Down by voters Democrats Republicans independents persuade a bulls -- that's what we really wanted to look at here today because we found it rather interesting.

Well John let me tell you for the last touches -- out of time here.

A veteran pollster whit -- Says that undecided voters historically choose the challenger on Election Day and I'll quote him from the Wall Street Journal.

You would expect the remaining undecided voters to break not exclusively but disproportionately.

For Romney.

Rather than Obama.

Does that make the Wednesday debated and those -- after more relevant more vital for Americans.

I think a lot of people are going to be tuning in to kind of hear this contrast that exist.

I think the key word there was.

After four years if you're happy with with the economy where it is when -- debt where it is right now and as you point out the word is persuade -- I think we were persuaded in 2008 but now it's time for results -- people aren't seeing them.

So I think at this point what they really want to do is continue to hear from Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan about their plan to move America forward.

They've seen being.

That would be good -- they don't -- doesn't mean that didn't work out.

Exactly they were -- out I think he's right now they want to learn more about governor -- time and and and move this country in new direction our bread you get the last word.

Well I look I think that would be great if they would lay out a specific plan and and that's what we would love -- the debates.

You know Paul Ryan said yesterday that he didn't have time to tell the American people about how about their tax plans of Sean how I will hold governor resigns his assets are actually no I don't call girl I'm -- Brad Paul Ryan yeah.

-- -- -- President and just -- the -- that means is zero he was asked about the -- he twice said revenue neutral that's zero that's a digit that's the math.

And aluminum bat the bat this how you get there right that's don't have plans on the website they'll look at a Brad.

-- actually they did they do I got right back as you put forward on like the president -- -- we don't go on and on front Brad -- house Sean Spicer gentlemen thanks very much.
