Earlier in our show we -- the Republican candidate for newly created congressional district in Arizona we're joined now by his opponent.

Houston cinema who says Vernon Parker doesn't care about the issues that are important to people on that and district.

Justin thank you so much for joining us I want start by giving you a chance to respond to some criticism just as I did with mr.

Parker.

That those who say that you were too far out we ran a little bit of an -- there by Republicans who say.

On -- your connections than the things that you care about and -- -- the 54 aren't a match for this district are you too far out.

You know in that ad is just ridiculous and followed dishonest smears and I'm really grateful to have a chance to set the record straight.

The truth is that I support keeping tax cuts for middle class families but I do believe that the richest two person.

I'm yours I'm sorry you're here and probably a little bit of the commercial background running right into the people did -- -- -- -- down a little bit but but we're hearing -- loud and clear.

Why do believe that the richest 2% our country should be asked to pay their fair share you know we continue the bush tax cuts for those 2%.

It could raise our deficit by a trillion dollars over the next ten years.

I just don't believe that we should leave the next generation amounted -- -- and I think most arizonans agree with me.

Unfortunately my opponent wants to give more tax cuts to corporations and -- rich and I think that's out of touch.

OK I want to give -- chance to respond to you as well quote that's been attributed to you give -- chance to explain from 2002 basically saying that.

When -- used to be stay at home mothers are leaching off their husbands or boyfriends cashing tax.

And if you think that's some kind of feminism because they chose that life basically it's BS.

But the BS what an abbreviated -- did you say that what did you mean bad.

Well you know that is that at taken out of context the interview was that -- over the top Stephen cold air style.

And it never mentioned mother's our moms at all in fact Shannon my own mom was a stay at home mom.

And my record in the legislature's clear.

I pass legislation to help stay at home moms and young mothers be able to breastfeed their babies without harassment -- risk interference from the law.

I've done a lot of work over the years to protect moms and babies to get work leave.

So they can have maternity leave and take care of their kids so again this is just a series of distortions and attacks.

And it's unfortunate.

Because I've asked mr.

Parker to debate the real issues.

And unfortunately he's turned down that invitation from our local Fox News station to other local stations in our community.

I think it's unfortunate we should be having a debate and a discussion on the real issues facing our community has the challenges are great.

All right -- since an amount we thank you very much for your time today -- and we'll stay tuned if you have a debate Al will be sure to update people thanks so much.
