Welcome back to on the hunt and foxnews.com.
I'm delighted to be joined in the studio now by Rick Sanchez of Fox News Latino good to see erect.
Script written we're gonna get your favorite food.
-- that in a moment one of our -- just -- he said.
Walkway on the question initially got in everything said just saying it in French makes it sounded -- had a and all that bad -- comment.
-- Ric Keller told you back to politics in the the debates.
The Hispanic vote that it's been talked about a lot is something that Mitt Romney -- he's trading I think you've said.
The Obama's senate one person in the NBC Wall Street Journal -- but what we talk about this is a segment of the voting populations often but.
It still comes down doesn't it to one thing like he does for most other such as the population went on jobs.
It certainly does and I think both of them are important and you know what makes -- parallel.
Both are huge missed opportunity through the -- the Romney camp I mean when it comes to Hispanics first let's just talk and really plain language.
It is a group of people -- as the fastest growing workforce in the United States.
Who have been asking for no less than handshake if not a warm -- And they haven't been able to get that at least not from this candidate and we'll have.
I have to -- what does he do to give them that warm handshake or hug well by the way at them -- the foundation of this argument is why would you want to hug them right because that's that's a very important question here in here's why.
The -- -- being the issue is this.
They come to this country -- Hispanics do according -- pew research 35%.
Declare themselves as conservative.
That's more than the population of the United States were mostly only 34% consider themselves a -- interest they -- index when it comes to going to church they over index and family values they over indexing work ethic they literally are ideological parallels to what Mitt Romney is trying to sell.
Why wouldn't you put your arms around this group of people.
In my Fox News Latino peace and I wrote last week.
I said okay good.
After the convention he got a bump went from 26 to thirty that's a pretty good -- But he needs to even get to McCain's numbers were 31 reagans -- 37 the Romney people were hoping to get to 38.
That's why this morning when I woke up and I -- -- the Wall Street Journal and I saw that 21% number I was startled.
And the argument that I would -- he's failed to embrace them because he has to.
He has to talk about an immigration and a more inspirational way in an inspirational aspiration way that's inclusive.
And not to give a speech to the US chamber of Hispanic commerce and LA several weeks ago and say by the way I want -- -- to know I'm never gonna grant amnesty to any.
What's the problem here in the base that he -- -- -- he's trying to take care of the Republican base and it's too difficult to straddle that line by embracing all hugging the Hispanic but you can do both.
You can do both -- so well because as I said you're talking about two groups of people who are not ideologically dissimilar.
And by having those people and saying you guys are a lot more alike than you are.
Different so let me bring you guys together instead he tends to choose camps from time to time.
And that's where he needs to say something like.
Look if there's a grandmother out there -- -- for children and her grandchildren.
And they've never broken on a long the United States have never been arrested and they pay their taxes you want me to deport her and after what she's done in this country -- doesn't make sense it's a sound.
Argument doesn't mean everybody gets to stay but develop a process that's inclusive and don't say everybody's out -- and.
A state like Florida your your home state right comment -- is Arab is there a big difference in courting say.
The Hispanic vote up in the panhandle.
To according perhaps -- the Cuban American vote down in South Florida astute question absolutely and here's why.
Puerto -- and Cuban Americans could give -- who.
About immigration and -- -- US citizens they're not going to be affected one way or another so that's where it's not about policy it's about tone.
It's about what -- -- this candidates say that makes me as a guy who hasn't and I don't have to worry about legalization United States because.
You know according to the Cuban democracy act of 1968.
I became a citizen since I arrived on these shores.
But I do have a mother.
And I do have a father and they don't speak English.
And I know what it's like for immigrants to come to this country.
So when a candidate says things that affect my heart and make me understand that he gets me is an immigrant as Latino immigrant.
I have a tendency to have a little softer place for him.
And that's that what I believe Mitt Romney has failed to do.
And I think it's very very important and he needs to do it and he needs to do as soon and he needs to do and a very concrete way than entrusting our.
-- -- ball costume yet as we wrap it up here though be -- the most important question of the day which was where do you find the best Cuban food in New York City.
Victor's cafe is the old -- that everyone's always gone -- for many years did you go there make sure you ask for old clothing.
Old clothing gold club what -- old clothing executives at some believe it's enough it's good for favorite Cuban fish.
For most people certainly for my kids and it's.
I guess as I did describe -- -- strong -- beef being twice Friday and garlic and woman among well.
-- -- -- Rick Sanchez of folks she's -- thank you so much revenue Rick Rick has they had great piece up on that Fox News Latino was my job I want to -- -- -- -- -- me -- we must do to avoid a lights and so let's see if he takes her advice.
Rick great to see you thanks --
