To the debt and how they sell this or not.

Allen west the Republican congressman from the -- state.

On the Florida.

That we're told I've got is that this debt will be a big issue and even though there is great risks to that a lot of folks say that it you know makes people's eyes glaze over that that there is actually a good strategy to that what do you make of it.

Won't.

Good afternoon deals would have to be with -- -- think it has to be huge issue.

This debt that we have is not only threatening to our economic security is -- -- our national security.

When you're on the stand -- here in less than four years we've gone from.

Ten point six trillion dollars in debt to over sixteen trillion dollars in debt that the -- -- -- in the United States of America has gone from.

34000 -- close to 51000.

But I think also we need to bring it down home when looked at some things such as the gasoline prices which on inauguration day for President Obama.

Was a -- 84 and now we're close to four dollars.

I think about the tens of thousands of dollars that have been spent for families.

To keep up with those gas prices the high commodity prices we see in the grocery stores -- -- continue to cause us trouble.

And the fact that we have an incredible unemployment situation the United States of America.

And 81 point 1% does not reflect it when you look at that you six computation.

We've got to have the right type attacks regulatory policies to get the American people back to work that -- small businesses functioning.

Make sure that we are saying they were open for business so we can get production and manufacturing back here and I think that's important to talk about especially.

We saw -- revision of our GDP second quarter GDP numbers down one point 3% that's below anemic.

And this quantitative easing 3.5.

Is just another indicator that we're not out of the fiscal woods yet.

You know we talk about economic numbers in the and you -- -- that GDP data that was -- just today congress and we had.

Surprisingly strong -- private sector numbers that came out they might or might not there what happens in the employment report on Friday again a 162000.

But all of this on the same day -- number companies are warning pigs don't look good there could be an earnings recession on.

What do you think is the real.

State of the economy right now and what Mitt Romney has the position.

Tonight.

Well the most important thing is Mitt Romney needs to show that.

The president in his previous budgets -- he's proposed with.

Trillions of dollars in new taxes only does -- one -- it grows the debt it does not do anything for the deficits that we've had.

And you get a bigger growth for the -- government.

We have to have policies that provide the certainty to the -- sector.

We have to have the policies that enabled them to grow and you know once again this is not saying we don't need any regulation but we need to have Smart regulations in calendar year 2011.

The federal government produce over 71000.

Pages of new regulations.

You talk to people in the coal industry and look at what is happening with them when we couldn't get cap and trade through the legislative process.

-- -- getting decimated through executive order Fiat and the regulatory process so.

We have to have a vision that come -- what Ronald Reagan say this morning in America we have to talk about a new dawn of this American economy.

You know a congressman you were among those who were arrested in and that Republican avalanche.

That brought in 83.

Republicans and that's -- the house.

To the Republicans then made John Boehner of a speaker.

You're an embrace your life right now you got this bad -- everyone's talking about here.

The fact of the matter is.

Republicans seen.

-- -- Have quite that same wind behind their back -- did they might get it in the polls as you -- and remind near fleeting.

But are you concerned that the passage that brought you -- the office.

Is there is my.

No I'm not concerned about that what I really do see on the ground.

Is you don't see their hats and T shirts in the hope and change and change we can believe in that yes we -- rhetoric of 2008.

The American people know the -- is not right is just very important.

As we go into these debating series that we start to articulate what is not right what is happening in Washington DC.

What are the failing policies and how that we bring them home to the American people and make a personable to fail to understand that we could turn this around and get headed in a different direction.

When you look at what we've been able to accomplish in the house -- -- budgets we pass appropriations bills but the one thing that -- constitutionally mandated to do.

The senate -- not do we have not had a budget -- therefore how do we know what we're supposed to do as far as.

Budgeting planning Americans distinguish though congress and they just seemed to give congress lower approval ratings.

Then the president and I know it's more more systems -- somebody you guys but.

That to the American people are looking at this and just Santa had put all you guys.

Well that's the responsibility.

Each and -- one of -- should have.

Going back in getting before our constituencies.

And explained it to them the situation explaining to -- what we do.

That's why do -- weekly report every week to give people legislative update.

They know the schedule what I've done this force meetings and hearings so they become part of the experience.

Congress and thank you very much it's always good seeing you thanks we did -- -- the congressman's opponent Patrick Murphy by the wave was yet to hear.

You're back but -- -- external always trying to be fair -- him thank you congressman.
