We alive from the post debate spin room where in Denver Colorado and everyone could agree that governor Romney.

Was the clear winner in tonight's debate and joining me now is the man who helped.

Well governor Romney prepare and come out swinging against the president -- his debate sparring partner.

And that would be Ohio senator Rob Portman are -- about the tea -- I Dick Cheney told me you're really good at -- that you get that.

It was interesting because I know it obviously the president -- preparing for days and he had.

I found the president struggling almost -- seem to be like is trying to remembers debate prep.

Governor Romney was just there in the moment relentless never took his foot off the gas and start middlemen.

I think the president seemed uncomfortable night yeah he's not used to being asked questions either by Jim -- or Mitt Romney.

But -- Mitt Romney was was himself John I mean you know he's a bright capable guy he's got a good command of the facts he's got a good heart he's in this for the right reasons and it came out tonight.

You said earlier -- you know he was likable who's likable because he was talking about what's in the interest of the American people that's why he's doing this.

And look I I think you can get all sorts of debate.

-- stuff and suggestions and snippets and all that it off and it comes down to New York's -- -- in other words that.

I've always said I'm on radio three hours a day I'm I'm blessed to be on the Fox News Channel you can't fake it.

Because of people see through you and he just you are we are quite tell us a little bit.

Just bring us behind the scenes what goes on -- debate prep and how do you do so well like getting into the minds of of the opponents.

That you're sparring with well I don't know what do so well but the idea you don't talked about before you can try to be even tougher than your opponents likely to be some of the partly through the debate.

You know.

The candidate Mitt -- this past incidents of bad you know we joined -- lots going on right -- as a you're a lot tougher.

Actually try to be and you know I don't think.

-- about listening tonight it was a surprise to receive try to anticipate he's gonna say.

But the bottom line is you know it's -- it's about the candidate and this was Mitt -- night he did a terrific job explaining to the American people why he's running for president.

I mean yes he prosecuted the last four years -- the problems and that was good American people need to understand better you know.

Why he's running and why it's important we have -- change but was more important to me was he talked about how the next four years can be better we can't afford another four years of the same for.

But also that he has positive proactive plans that are gonna get America working again and that.

It's -- undecided voters need to you know somebody's interviewed governor Romney a lot I felt that the criticism with a narrative that he's not being substantive in his answers.

I never felt that was True Religion always give me very specific cancers -- -- as -- Freddie went through 12345.

He explained obamacare boom boom boom boom boom what I do differently.

-- so I felt tonight that more than anything putting style aside substance.

Knowledge of issues.

Was was very deep or deeper than the president yeah.

He spoke tonight to me kinda like a business person in the governor you know like look I'm gonna solve this problem forget the political rhetoric here things we need to do in this country -- -- -- out and again.

Undecided voters in Ohio and I think -- more of them by the way the pollsters say they are.

There were looking for that they're looking for somebody to say things can be better and here's that they can't be better what they've heard instead of course.

Is a lot of negative ads.

-- -- characterizes all the Republicans want dirty air and water that wanna throw granny over a cliff all of all of that nonsense -- -- the -- the president couldn't bring up here -- because it's a factually inaccurate and when he tried to he was corrected.

That which is important yet without saying you're a liar I mean I can say that but you -- have a president can't presidential candidate can say that.

-- artful -- correct what do you think about the next format which is a town hall.

Different format -- one that President Obama will be more comfortable and it wasn't comfortable tonight.

But he he couldn't look at governor Romney tonight.

And he seemed aggravated agitated -- me wanna be there.

What's the difference between the two formats -- -- prepared to vote I think -- Romney wouldn't do very well town hall format he's done town halls on you know all over the country but I think pres Obama we'll do very well also.

I mean as you say that's -- format that he likes.

The problem for -- -- is going to be the policies you know ultimately his.

It's funny he can't run on his record you don't run on Clinton's record -- -- new generation and as why should be reelected was I inherited a mess.

And so we're gonna keep doing the same thing we're doing well first of all as you know the run -- laid out pretty clearly things haven't gotten better they've gotten worse.

An economic growth -- -- here than it was last year and last year.

It was lower than it was here before so.

That -- work too well in any kind of sits on gonna keep doing the same stuff I've been doing and and we're gonna have a better result.

So whether it's a town hall format whether it's the -- -- depressed format -- -- Fox News format.

Yes or whether it's you know behind the podium with -- -- -- you're gonna have.

Still has Obama's gonna tough times I'd like this format tonight free flowing I felt it was actually closer to a real debate was and I get Jim -- a lot of -- I -- -- -- -- a lot of people -- -- That's right and the receiver Josh Duncan appreciate you being -- just pick --
