Right now the FBI is searching for suspected terrorists with.

Apparent links to al-Qaeda Hochman -- -- -- -- a US citizen and according to the FBI he's made several trips overseas to train with terrorists.

He most recently lived in Mansfield Massachusetts and the FBI is now offering a 50000 dollar reward for information leading to his capture.

They posted a video on YouTube with more information includes a recording of his voice.

I was -- 511 with a thin build and yet higher pitched voice listen now to a recording -- this place.

If they'll have a -- and -- -- -- right to -- that -- it's only a mother that next time.

-- they might -- you know.

Peter -- is a former CIA operative a senior fellow for national security affairs at The Heritage Foundation so.

-- this guy has dual citizenship with the United States and Syria he apparently left the United States in 2006.

So.

Why are we hearing from the FBI now about the -- Well yes the FBI they say there's no specific event that is triggered this bounty that's been put out on him.

But I -- and that could be true and or -- they could be you know holding sensitive details to themselves and not wanting to say anything much more than that.

He has been gone for six years but.

His co conspirator.

Was sentenced earlier this year to seventeen plus years in jail and perhaps they're finding out some new things about it so I mean it's not quite clear why.

He's in Syria which certainly isn't a safe place for anybody these days the good news if there is any is that he's out of the united state.

So how effective are these had the bounties that are put on.

You know whenever or whoever is winds that are on the wanted posters it's an effective way actually -- to get suspected terrorists.

Well it's one tool.

-- of course there are drone strikes.

There are other ways of you know getting at them as well through special operations.

You know arrest by local host countries I don't suspect we're gonna get much support.

Out of Syria these days for getting this -- individual -- may have moved on from Syria that's where they thought he was but I think it's a unique and innovative way of using social media.

To get the world out there I -- we're getting a lot of reports in from Syria about what's going on there in fact it's one of the only really good ways we're having a sense the terrible troubles that are going on -- that civil war so the Internet is getting into serious somebody out there may see it.

May -- 50000 dollars is a good way to to get ahead.

And give us a tip that could lead to his arrest obviously the FBI even six years after -- left the country is still very interested in him and they obviously think.

He is still a threat I -- value.

You know -- they say this -- -- 50000 dollars.

Yeah I really don't know that'd be honest about it here I don't -- what other you know get more money.

Right well it's it's hard to say I guess it's not a million so maybe not and that sort of category.

But be an intelligence type as opposed to a law enforcement type I think -- probably have to ask the I have to ask this guy but they must think.

In that part of the world that it's enough money to get somebody to turn him -- give us a tip about his his location but -- worried that.

He could try to get back in the United States in some way.

And the fact is is that they're still after him so he obviously still threaten somebody to worry about.

This -- from what -- read what you seen as far as the actions of the FBI how how big of a threat do you think this guy is to our national security.

Well they're obviously very concerned about him.

Like I said you know there's a possibility that he's involved -- not telling us everything and I support that I don't wanna know everything that's gonna perhaps tip him off.

But they he knows now that they're that they're watching him he's had contacts in Yemen remember al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula Pakistan that's still you know -- -- and epicenter of Islamist extremism and terrorism.

And he wanted to go to Iraq to kill American soldiers so he's obviously some sort of threat you know course -- bureaucratic wheels can turn rather slowly.

They may be just getting around to this but I think it has something to do with the sentencing of his co conspirator perhaps he's telling us some things about some plots that has renewed or reinvigorated.

Interest in getting their hands on him.

Wasilla -- -- -- at least have a conversation where we'll see if this works out inaction he gets in custody Peter thank you very much.

Santa -- sounded in that.
