Hi I'm Bill O'Reilly thank you for watching us tonight what really happened at the debate last night.

That is the subject of this evening's talking points memo shortly after debate and did I receive an email from one Dennis Miller who lives in Santa Barbara California.

Mr.

Miller opining.

I hope the president's butt kicking is covered by Obama care.

Apparently Dennis Miller believes Mitt Romney won the debate.

And that's true the governor did win had a why -- -- -- turned to MSNBC.

The commentators there looked like per regions watching the Germans marched.

Into Paris in 1940.

He was genuine heartbreak.

On that cable network.

But there was joy in the Romney precincts now how did Romney managed to out talk President Obama.

He did it because he was far more energetic and engaged in what he was actually say here's the best line -- Romney had.

I will not reduce the share paid by high income individuals.

I know that you when you're running -- keep saying that I know it's a popular thing to say with a lot of people but it's just not the case but I guess I -- I'm used to people.

Saying something that's.

Not always true but just keep on repeating it and ultimately hoping I'll believe it but that that is not the case all right I will not reduce the taxes paid.

By high income Americans.

That was a scripted line but the governor delivered it well.

On the other side president Obama's best line mocked Romney over the vagueness of his tax -- -- Us.

At some point I think the American people after -- themselves that is the reason that governor Romney is keeping all these.

Plans to replace.

Secret because they're too good.

Is it is because that somehow middle class families are gonna benefit too much from him.

-- and -- was descriptive line to the president didn't delivered with much mover.

The mystery here is that Barack Obama is a good debater and a good public speaker we all of that.

But the mistake he made last night was coming off as a boring college professor he simply -- non -- non.

About people he met in Kalamazoo or someplace -- a tough deal going on.

Instead of making dramatic points the president -- and and I couldn't believe I couldn't believe.

And mr.

Obama didn't even bring up Mitt Romney's 47%.

Remark what happened that.

By saying he thought 47% of Americans would vote for him because are tied to entitlements.

Mr.

Romney put himself in a difficult position and the president doesn't even mention.

-- -- -- Also mr.

Obama did not look to the future he did not tell Americans how he is going to improve the economy.

While governor Romney said flat out that he wants to put more American dollars into the marketplace.

By cutting taxes even if you disagree with that.

At least it's a strategy.

Which Obama has no strategy other than staying the course which is a disaster.

So that's why Mitt Romney won.

Reaction to the day was fascinating -- pal Al Gore blamed the president's weak performance on the altitude in Denver.

I'm gonna -- some controversial here.

Obama.

Arrived.

In Denver at 2 PM today.

Does a few hours before the debates start and Romney did his debate prep.

In Denver.

And when you go to 5000 feet exactly.

And you -- have a few hours to adjust -- interest.

I don't know.

Well you know that's.

Was mr.

gore high when he says -- and -- Some Obama supporters simply declared victory.

But look I think the president -- -- in my own grace how he won't substance Mitt Romney came to play.

-- -- -- Mitt Romney was on the attack it was on the offensive that the same time he didn't really land any big punches on President Obama.

Memo to Donna Brazil -- -- like the governor didn't have to land any big punches because the president slipped to the -- this all by himself.

Our pal James Carville was a bit more realist.

It looks like Romney wanted to be down in front Obama -- mortgage -- He seemed like he was happy to be had made a bomb failed to get negative impression that just the whole thing was kind of -- up a lot of trouble.

And -- was a lot of trouble for the president.

A CNN poll taken immediately after the debate said that 67%.

Of registered voters believe Mitt Romney won the contest just 25% -- Obama did CBS news poll of uncommitted voters who watch -- debate was interest thing.

46% of them say Mitt Romney won 22% believe the president came out on top 32% say it was a top.

-- it was a good night for governor Romney indeed.

Now what does this mean going -- Number -- the Romney campaign is energize will be easier raise money.

-- -- The president's attack ads on television against Romney but could be taken as seriously because of folks have seen -- governor defend himself effectively the -- -- Obama will lose some steam in the polls and with the adoring media.

But in this today.

Mr.

Obama will come back hard on October 16 you can count on that and governor Romney pass to be again be on his game.

Two more things from the very beginning of the campaign I said the debates will tell the tale.

What Mitt Romney absolutely has to do that he hopes to defeat Barack Obama is win the three debates now.

We have seen -- governor today well and we have seen him get his butt kicked.

Last night from the debated well and may be on his way to the White House.

If that continues.

Finally I made this prediction last night.

Mitt Romney will wish the first couple happy Denver and play the first things does that it.

Congratulations to you Mr.

President on your anniversary I'm sure this was the most most dramatic place you could imagine here.

Here with me so -- Congratulations.

Way to go governor keep watching the fact.
