They risk their lives fighting for our freedom but sometimes our women in uniform don't get the attention they deserve and that's about change.

This weekend fifty female veterans will make history competing for beauty poise and patriotism.

And a crown at the first annual miss veteran America pageant.

Joining us now as one of the competitors for -- -- America 89 year old.

Gladys Hughes you look amazing what a cute you want why would you want to enter this pageant.

Well I flew around in the theater a great deal in the United States that's -- -- little theater group is in my town.
