Governor Mitt Romney on this subject last night with Sean Hannity listen.
I believe obviously that what happened there was a tragic failure.
There have been warnings of a possible attack.
There were requests on the part of our of our I think -- commission there of our of our diplomats there rather to have additional.
Security forces they were turned down.
And then -- following -- the tragedy had we saw well that it misleading information coming from the administration and and in fact the president didn't acknowledge that this was.
A terrorist -- for for what a week or two.
I mean that this was a terrorist attack.
Lives were lost this happened on 9/11.
We expect candor and transparency from the president from the administration and we didn't get it.
Let's -- -- -- Cheney former deputy assistant secretary of state.
And the chairwoman of keep America safe dot com and also a Fox News contributor Liz -- -- good to have -- aren't that good to be with you.
Revelations every day.
In this story.
What do you think about the latest -- which show of an ongoing struggle about whether or not to call this terrorism in the ensuing days of this attack.
Right well we know now from reporting that the administration actually formally designated this -- terrorist attack.
In the hours after the attack.
In order to be able to have to that available to them some of the resources needed.
To get to the bottom of it so we know that they designated it officially inside the Pentagon a terrorist attack.
It looks like before ambassador rice went on -- Sunday shows to say that it was dollars -- that video.
We've got a very troubling combination here of an administration boats at the State Department Secretary Clinton and at the White House that seems to have ignored.
Very serious threat warnings ignored attacks you know a dozen attacks now we know from this letter that set.
Been sent by congress and then after the fact after having ignored those attacks and those threats and denying the resource is our consulate requested.
They tried to cover up it's very very serious cover up it's hard to remember frankly a more serious cover up.
And that I certainly hope that we'll get some focus and attention on this.
Particularly given that we afford that Americans you know we have spoken to a friend of two those two former Navy SEALs.
Who were lost in that and one of the great ambiguities about all of this that continues to strike me.
Is the explanation of what their role was because in the initial hours and days.
It would there was a suggestion that they were providing security.
When what we're learning is that they were not they were there on a very separate.
Mission which most likely according to the course that we're hearing involved trying to get keep track of some of the weapons that -- let loose.
After Qaddafi after Qaddafi was ousted out of power.
You know why ambiguity on the -- -- there.
Well you know it's often the case that our our government that that particularly.
Our representatives overseas.
Are engaged in very important missions I don't know if that's the case here in terms of the that suggestion about what they were -- but it's often the case that.
Those missions are not made public and frankly they shouldn't be made public.
But you know in addition to the former Navy SEALs -- -- there obviously the ambassador and an additional American diplomat were on the scene also.
And you know when you combine the fact that we had this threat reporting the fact that we had these attacks with the fact that the president of the United States missed 60%.
Of his presidential daily briefings.
In addition I'd like to know what was the threat briefing you know were they getting just as president still receive.
A daily threat assessment.
And with this president also receive an add on his iPad or was he actually sitting for the -- and -- ask any questions did -- say what is the situation in Libya.
How can we ensure that our people are saying.
And I liked it.
God -- -- so I'd like to know the same thing frankly with respect to Secretary Clinton because at the end of the day.
As -- senior official in the State Department these were her people they work.
Her responsibility.
She also receives daily briefs supposed to receive daily briefs and I think the American people deserve to understand.
Where the disconnect was and why after having been so irresponsible about that reporting the administration felt the need to cover this up going forward.
And -- Susan Rice instead of Hillary Clinton in terms of -- you know front person.
In speaking about all this and just you know back to the seals for a moment.
But what the product is getting atlas is that a disservice -- mean we all understand it -- we -- explain why all of our -- -- in different places around the world.
But is it the service to them to suggest that they were there to protect ambassador Stevens.
And that he wasn't protected in some way and that's one of the questions that you know when you a little bit more resolution -- thought let's let's take a look at it.
Sound like that comes in from an independent.
Security contractor.
With regard to all of this and he says the business of intelligence has become politicized.
Says one of the contractors who performed the evidence review that's just a sad fact regardless of which party.
Is in charge what's your reaction to that list.
I think that it is certainly the case here I mean you've seen the president of the United States attempt to say to the American people.
Al-Qaeda that is you know on the defense the threat from al-Qaeda is waning -- on a path to decline.
He's the entire democratic establishment try to claim at their convention that because President Obama ordered the strike against bin Laden somehow the -- is diminished.
It is very inconvenient for President Obama politically.
To have had a terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11 that resulted in.
The death of four Americans it clearly puts the lie the notion that we don't face any further threat.
And I think you know you see this now with the FBI team that took -- Almost a month to get on the ground.
And the fact that we are very matches scenes dealing with this like a law enforcement matter you know the FBI goes they investigate I think it's pretty clear that the crime scene is not going to be of much use they view it as a crime scene I view it is -- scene of -- terrorist attack.
Won't be of much -- to them after all this time.
That the administration seems to be reverting to a pre 9/11 mentality and trying to construct facts in order to support.
That approach to terrorism and it's not -- -- -- tonight because -- dangerous posture -- thank you so much always good to have you thanks that they need to give them a lot more to.
