Countdown is all line.

This race between President Obama and governor Mitt Romney.

Increasingly tightening this weekend.

Since Wednesday night's big debate and the latest jobs report and just this morning governor Romney already getting in some more prep time.

For next week's debate.

Before hitting the campaign trail in the key battleground state of Florida.

Senate senator's national finger.

Special correspondent John Roberts joins us live now from the city of a pop got.

And John it's good to see of the governor we understand is scheduled to attend a rally there tonight tell us about.

Yeah well -- we've got a killer right now a little bit of a Florida thunderstorm that's popped up but that's expected to be gone by the time the governor hits the stage here.

In a populated rods that traveling the I four -- this weekend which of course is a place where elections are won or lost in Florida the RCP average showing things even up Rask is -- -- Has -- Romney up by a couple of points.

He's trying to keep the momentum going from that great debate performance that he put in on Wednesday also trying to show voters.

That is not the scary guy that the Obama campaign makes him out to be yesterday stopping and -- led Tennessee to Cuban restaurant in Tampa shaking hands with some of the folks -- getting a little bit of take out an at a campaign event.

In Saint Petersburg looking back on the president's debate performance which many people saw as a flop.

Did you hear what he had to say.

I didn't either.

I get a look at -- specific plan as to what he was gonna do to create jobs I heard more of the same stimulus.

Hiring more government workers raising taxes those things don't create jobs they they cost jobs.

Meantime on the campaign trail in Ohio yesterday President Obama full of the fire that was so glaring -- absent from the debate on Wednesday night continuing to push the idea.

The governor Romney was not telling the truth that that debate on Wednesday.

And was trying to wiggle out of his past positions.

I don't like that it.

Then -- -- the stops.

Or -- is extreme make over.

The -- But -- but no matter what he says my opponents.

A big believer of these top down economics.

Now President Obama and his campaign had some big news today saying here in the month of September they raised 181.

Million dollars to run a campaign -- just a few minutes ago saying.

In less than 48 hours after that debate performance they raised.

Twelve million dollars.

This going to be a fight right to the finish Kelly no question about that.

John I think -- honestly right about the -- one thing is clear Mitt Romney is certainly energized by Wednesday night's debate would you say.

Yeah absolutely that that that the real key though -- the challenge for governor Romney Kelly is going to be.

To keep that momentum mop he's got to do these campaign appearances the Obama campaign's going to be -- with all sorts of negatives and it's a week until from Tuesday.

Until they meet face to face again in that debate stage in the president.

Newly energized in terms of playing the tough guy on the campaign trail.

All right we'll be watching senior national correspondent John Roberts reporting -- today thank you sir thanks.
