Democrats -- mainstream media have been making that Romney's faith an issue in this year's race the best example came just last week from Harry Reid.

Who like governor Romney is a Mormon and he said and I quote.

He's coming to a state where there are a lot of members of the LDS church they understand that he is not the face of woman -- in quote.

I -- does Harry think he has.

My question is why is the Republican nominees -- such -- -- a sore topic with his opposition.

Joining me is Idaho congressman Raul Labrador is also a Mormon and by the way I think he's at his son's football game is that right congressman.

I am that's what we we are mormons do on a Saturday -- pornography are your thoughts our kids play football I know your congressman your in the middle of a reelection campaign.

I want to say I admire the fact you get your priorities straight.

And you're out there with your son at his football game I think we need more people in congress who do understand that there's more to life in politics and god bless -- -- -- plug begin there.

I wanna I wanna talk about this in the.

These semi ridiculous attacks.

On Mitt Romney and his faith from no less than Harry Reid who is a member of the same church.

Does this surprise you congressman and and how do you as a fellow Mormon respond to that.

You know -- impresses me a lot but you know Harry Reid he says a lot of strange things that he almost has no shame.

I grew up in Las Vegas actually know his family.

At and it's sometimes their prices -- because his reputation many years ago when I lived in Las Vegas is that he was a moderate Democrat.

Who could work with both sides of the aisle once he became a member of leadership also Neil he almost lost.

All sense of reason and I and all of his shame some of the things that he has said.

Last week they have to -- drop back one of his statements from his senatorial office.

Because this statement in this it that he put out was false it was demonstrably false everything that he says.

He has nothing to back it up and now he tries to put down Mitt Romney's faith which I just don't really understand what he's doing that.

Congressman if he opens this door and wants to get into Mitt Romney's faith and where he goes to church.

Does not that open the door for us to go back and revisit.

Reverend Jeremiah Wright and all of the aspects of president Obama's -- You know I in my opinion I don't think so I think we've litigated that issue we know where.

Barack Obama was for twenty years -- church he keeps hiding what he was.

But the important thing is that Mitt Romney actually has policies that are going to be better for America that Barack Obama Barack Obama has a record of four years of -- here.

Mitt Romney has some life time of success.

And I think that's what this election is going to be about and I think it's totally inappropriate for Harry Reid or any other person.

In the Democratic Party to bring up Mitt Romney's faith and I don't think we -- play that game on our side.

Well let me say congressman you look pretty normal to me two of my very favorite public servants in the world.

Are on Michael Leavitt a dear dear friend of mine for many years when we were both governors together and Orrin hatch one of the most I think respectable.

And and truly statesman like senators in the entire United States senate.

Both are members of the LDS church.

There's nothing in any of their careers over several decades that should give anyone any concern as to whether a member of the LDS church is capable.

Of serving in public office and doing it with integrity and honor.

Does that help you think as far as a great platform for people what they.

Are worried about Mitt Romney to see the people who have served in public office and they're quite a few off them.

-- is served with honor and distinction integrity and great confidence.

I think so I think there's a long list of public servants who are of the LDS faith on fourthly we also have Harry Reid -- -- -- -- -- I I think we have a long list of of very honest then.

Man full of integrity men and women full of integrity we appreciate very much -- joining us today from Idaho.
