And former deputy assistant secretary of defense and Fox News of national security analyst KT McFarland my friend joins us this evening.
All right TT I mean I just want to segue from what the congressman.
I just said that.
And and that is that you know they're gonna look at these issues are gonna look to see you know what the reality was we don't even have to address the issue of the video right that's just -- wash her friend again are right and the Libyan now president that it was preposterous and self absorbed all right so what do we do from this.
What are your three thinks that this committee should look for one is and there are so many questions as party even ours start you did a great job by the way about lining them.
But initially intelligence what was -- intelligence failure why did we not -- they're already have been attacks on this embassy in June.
And X series a cascading of advancing area's getting much more dangerous.
Why did we not -- but if we -- now.
Why do we have a private secure -- -- let me stop you there.
If we did know -- why did we failed to provide the security not only if we did know what's emails seem to indicate we we did.
And the ambassador was afraid -- -- CNN finds his journal.
They they start criticizing CNN then what the motivation -- -- not protect our ambassador why.
You know I I -- it if I think -- because of a third failure and that's the policy failure.
You know what this administration is very eager to go topple dictators throughout the region and claim this is going to be an outbreak of of western oriented liberal democracies one fact that's not what's happening country after country even when they go to the ballot boxer and they're electing Muslim brotherhood -- -- So did this just not fit into their narrative did they not take it seriously.
But it's not just -- -- -- -- provides security before.
What is the operation was going not once it was going down they knew that the embassy of the council was under attack in the ambassador was there.
Why did they not try to go senator group and mission to rescue him telling I don't know I talked to one person was active in the region has got people on the ground in the -- maybe they just were worried.
But it would be a Blackhawk down incident so and I said what you mean the ambassador was expendable.
And you said well they just didn't provide any sources or resources to go -- -- I was there -- you are familiar with all of this -- You worked in president Reagan's administration correct -- All right if an American had been killed event along with three other officials.
What do you think would have happened I think we would have gone and try to rescue because you didn't know in advance that they they -- dead you -- know they were detonated their -- taken to use it now.
Why did you not send in reinforcements.
You know the two seals who were killed they are not part of the -- they were very -- and he easily they knew they -- half a mile away they knew there are something aren't around they rushed into the scene.
To see if they could be of any assistance.
A whole lot of questions about this.
But I think one of the fundamental questions is.
Who would have made a decision to not provide that security when I was in the White House during Watergate and I promptly issue that -- cover -- started happening is because they're covering that somebody at the top they're not covering up some junior official and a decision tend to either overriding -- -- does that sound you know major in the Nate I have it doesn't go along with the narrative that this is they.
You know the beginning of democracy secularism.
And Libya and if they killed in a lot how could Al I just don't -- around well I think that's a big part of it it doesn't fit in with the narrative.
And they wanted to keep everything quiet and -- After the election is that -- -- it because what what does that what why are they trying to cover something up.
You know the White House as you pointed out the first it was blame the video.
-- video had nothing to do with that and anyway you blame the video what's gonna happen with the White House sponsored movie that's gonna come out.
-- in December showing Americans killing bin Laden.
All with -- -- have a -- -- -- literally thank you.
