We talked RNC communications director Sean Spicer -- several big campaign issues and now the other side of the conversation.

We're joined by Obama campaign communications director -- Colbert to get the other side of this debate -- thanks for joining us today.

They picture in -- revenue.

-- and I've talked to you first about an issue that you all have done very very well with female voters -- seen in polling again and again that.

The president maintains an advantage they are so I want run -- new ad that's out.

That highlights female voter and they get your reaction this -- I believe is called Melanie.

Sure.

I'm disappointed in Barack Obama as my press event.

Because he promised to bring this all together and we're all going to be able to Oxford I don't see that prospering.

In 2008.

-- that if Barack Obama he doesn't happen at this time -- -- Romney being a woman.

We think about your children when you think about their future and what I -- to think about music teacher that has jobs.

Our economy's growing again that's important to women in its importance to.

-- Mitt Romney.

And I approve this message.

-- -- that's an ad Brenda comes directly from the Romney campaign it hits on a couple of things that she's a female voter and also that she's a small business owner and word about the future for children and grandchildren.

Are you worried about losing any ground with those particular constituencies.

So we'll look at who we're doing well among women voters for the same reason we're doing well with voters across the board and that's because.

The president's been out there talking specifically about the things he's done the things he plans to do.

To help women and to help women voters.

You know that and a lot of ways illustrate what we've seen out of the Romney campaign consistently throughout this campaign and what we saw on the debate last Wednesday night where.

There's a set a rhetoric but the policies just don't match up.

The president has been helping small businesses he's at eighteen tax cuts for small businesses over the last four years.

He -- policies they're gonna help protects women's health and their ability to make their own health care choices and most importantly he's doing things to get women and men back into the workforce so.

Romney can and the Romney campaign can can say the right things but -- Phillies are doing the right things we're not gonna see that kind of progress among women voters.

All right I he sped up some numbers they're so wanna give -- chance to respond to some other numbers one -- six Americans now living in poverty.

Media ink comes down since the president took over by 4500 dollars how does the president -- what's happened on his watch over the last four years.

Sure we'll look the president has been consistent.

In telling the American people what he inherited look at what -- -- -- over 2009 we are facing the worst economic crisis is the Great Depression.

The the Republican to an office to -- a dug a big hole.

And it's taken for years to start to dig out of that hole we saw some numbers on Friday that all Americans should be excited about in terms of in terms of the labor force and unemployment and it shows were moving in the right direction we've had 31 straight months -- job creation in the country.

Since we kind of started to turn around.

There are things we still need to address their issues and he's going to tackle.

But the worst thing we could do for those that are still out there trying to find work are trying to lift themselves out of poverty is to go backwards if we hurt ourselves and we heard our progress -- going backwards to the policies -- Mitt Romney.

Those folks -- going to be a real bad place.

OK -- a couple of things first of all the president did take over.

In the Democrats controlled everything the White House said that house the senate for two years.

Why not more accomplishment during that time period and at what point does this president stop blaming the last president.

Sure well in terms of the first two years how the administration.

I think there was a lot of progress -- a lot of tough choices were made by the president that including doing the things we need to do to rescue the auto industry.

I'm making some real investments in things like education infrastructure investments that Romney has said that he wouldn't have made and and would it make in the future.

And those are long term investments that -- charts -- to see the fruits of now in terms of the economy really started to turn around and that's really struck a note to get out of that hole.

And it's not about blaming anybody in terms of of looking at the context of where we started.

But it is important to look at the last four years if you're judging the president's record that includes what he inherited when he walked in office on day one.

Our rights a couple of of the things that president by his own admission.

-- according to those closest to him was not happy with his debate performance this week -- much is that people prepared differently that they he will be.

Much different and the next debate can you tell us anything about shifts in strategy or preparation for the next today.

Sure -- look I'm not gonna get into the the details of of how the president's gonna prepare what will take place between now and the second presidential debate.

Folks won't need to tune any kind of kind of see how that all plays -- -- can tell you is the president will be prepared for -- Mitt Romney shows up.

We had a Mitt Romney show up on Wednesday night he seemed to just walk away from his own positions to to have a performance that was stylistically very impressive.

But substantively was was pretty much divorce from the realities of his own policies.

And you know the president's going to be ready for that this time integrated -- Romney on this on this on -- in this also it's.

Well you had a record audience tuning in last time at least over the last forty years or so Americans are hungry for more information with thirty days -- We can be certain those next two debates and of course vice presidential debate this week as well.

A can be very interesting -- -- we thank you for your time today.

Great -- so much.
