An early voting as well under way in Iowa even before the first presidential debate it was happening and we're taking a closer look.

At the swing state of Iowa today recent poll by Des Moines Register shows most Iowa voters place.

The economy high in their list of concerns they really want a candidate.

Who can fix it so let's take a closer look at the economy of Iowa you can see the unemployment rate well below what we see nationally.

If you take quality gas prices this is it is because they were talking -- and not in California about the five dollar a gallon than gas this is slightly slightly below the national average and we take a look at how much time either candidate has spent in this.

-- EC the presidents.

I slightly more than -- need that both paying quite at a time.

In the state of Iowa quick look at a few other things including -- -- all boats it has six out of 270.

Every vote counts as you well now.

And let's take a look at where the polls are today you can see the most recent real clear politics average here.

I had the president that's slightly over Mitt Romney now the last time I spoke to our next guest about three weeks ago.

It was a virtual high in the polls again the president -- slightly higher than Mitt Romney today happier Brad and it is a political editor for the -- -- -- Things really change over the last couple weeks.

Well you know I think that the back to early -- has started -- really but it.

-- -- -- -- -- -- I'm getting people out that I'm up in the last few weeks it's been a -- and make getting people make up their mind.

-- -- -- -- Iowa poll as you mentioned as showed a close race.

But only about 2% of -- likely voters have not made up their mind yet there were talking about very thin margins the people.

Now what that's all about motivating people to get out to vote and I think that the first debate I really did make a difference in that sense.

And difference -- in what way and what -- when I'm -- Yeah well I think it was good for Mitt Romney Hugh was a little bit behind in the poll.

-- written because it really helps to energize Republicans.

You actually get people out to vote and you know not only themselves but they're neighbors they're friends to go down -- the campaign and make phone calls.

These are the kinds of things -- really matter right now in Iowa as far as say you know really just make sure to get people people that the polls and to get people to vote early.

What is -- things that I read about Iowa is that Iowa's likely voters do.

Have AFI censor.

It DC did it -- to -- more affectionate if you -- of Paul Ryan who is -- reading made.

-- Mitt Romney we had that big vice presidential debate that's happening on Thursday.

How much of -- -- -- do you think the vice presidential debate might be in a state of Iowa where we are seeing that likely voters might respond to Paul Ryan.

Well yeah Paul Ryan was a popular in Iowa that -- both.

I have been Paul Ryan and Joseph Biden what -- at you don't hat were personally popular that would really asked people who was the -- a war of an asset to the campaign.

It was very clear the Paul Ryan was seen as more of an asset to the Romney campaign and Joseph Biden was to the -- to -- Barack Obama campaign.

So I think that people are watching -- vice presidential debate.

And in part she see how well.

This sort of second in command.

-- stand up against each other.

But I also think that people kind of watch these debates a little bit like a NASCAR supporter -- -- they wanna see is gonna go into the wall.

And I think that -- avoiding gaffes this can be very very important for those candidates have -- It is certainly one way to put is like a sporting event in many ways -- it's really nice to have you back with this -- -- -- -- checking vacuum at the of the floor.

Election Day thank you so --
